The 30's-40's and 50's are eras that I think women and men were at their sexiest. The hair, makeup, clothes. There was something about the styles and glamour.What I know of those times is from tv and pictures, so whether or not that was the reality is another story.
but memories of Audrey Hepburn, Ann Margret, Elvis, Cary Grant, William Powell and Myrna loy are all delicious
but I guess the sixties had something as well-Brigette Bardot, Raquel Welch....

Well, there is something to be said about the 1600's. They were crazy people that hid their desires very well. Sort of.....

even wear my handmedowns til this day. I don't care for the outer fashion too much.

While I do quite enjoy the minimalist look one gets in many of the older black and white movies, and how it really makes the old star-ettes very visually appealing, I'm not a big one for fashion. And though the men always looked dashing in their tailored suits, it's a style I would not touch with a ten foot pole. (If you care for a citation on this, I'll have to look it up.)

I much prefer something functional, and suits are just too stiff and stuffy.

@CF-the 1600's,lol when I think of living in those times, yes some think I'm that old, I cringe at the lack of cleanliness and thought of body odor. I wonder how people stood each other then.

Medical evidence seems to suggest back then the nose wasn't as fine-tuned to odours as it is now.

I agree that we should live for today, nothing wrong with recalling and enjoying the past though. I'm always excited for whats to come but I also cherish what once was TY for the reply. Btw, have you not noticed most new movies are remakes of old ones:wink2:
