I'm talking about bagels, you perverts....

I live in an area of Toronto where there are several bagel restaurants who bake their bagels on site. I'm near Bathurst and Eglinton, there's gotta be 5 different bagel places , including the famous St.Urbain Bagels.

Now my preference is for a soft chewy bagel, not one that has a harder crunchy exterior. But I don't seem to find any consistency. I went to one bakery this morning at 7:00 am... it was the only one open that early, and got a coffee and a bagel and it was fresh out of the oven and was crunchy. I was disappointed.

I like a soft chewy bagel, with cream cheese, lettuce, tomato and cucumber and black pepper. My usual place knows I like them soft, but only serves them up that way half the time.

I'll get them trained eventually. They serve great coffee.

I like my bagels to be an everything bagel (garlic, onion, salt and poppy seed), toasted crunchy, with cream cheese and chives. Lox if it looks good and then add a few capers.

Montreal bagels have long been considered the best in Canada (of course, I heard that from mostly Montreallers!). Having lived there, on and off, several times, I can verify that SOME of the bagels there are superb and worth the trip, but they are not that much better than bagels I've had in Trawna and Vancouver. Of course, bagels, like women, are very subjective.

Agree on Montreal bagels. There is one on St. Denis that will make you want to buy the store.

To me if the cream cheese is not crunchy then it doesn't matter the type of bagel.

Ban Danolo for his deceiving post.

Hmmmmm that's a bit extreme...

Particularly coming from someone with an avatar like that...
