I saw Supertramp live in I'll guess 1980 for the Breakfast in America tour at Landsdown Park in Ottawa. Tremendous show and event.

Between 1974 and 1982 I counted all of mt tickets stubs up a few years ago and I had seen over 120 of the most popular bands in that era.

Sex and drugs and Rock&Roll that's what is was all about and we lived it to the fullest.

Maybe a little to full now that I think back.

Ya, those were some times!

I saw many of the big bands back in those days too, And yes, the Breakfast in America tour was in the summer 1980. I still have my ticket stubs too, but no where near 120!

That's not the one that surprised me... She's young and therefore in Britney's target demographic...

I was MORE surprised by Roger Hodgson! (Formerly of 70's- 80's Supertramp fame!)

What can I say... I'm complicated
Hahaha... you guys ought to give BLACKOUT more of a chance. Some amaaazing music on that album :)
As for Roger Hodgson and Supertramp.... sigh  such beautiful music. Sometimes I wish I'd been born in the 70's when there was just so much more sweetness in life and people.

I am floored by Adele's voice LickingGravity, and it's a great song!

Another pretty song I'm cheating and listening to right now but this thread put me in the mood for luv:

Surprise, surprise, I'm not much for romantic songs at all. Even in HS, I couldn't stand them. Found the ones at the time were so whiny and wimpy. Now I just don't relate to them, in that I don't get the emotions being expressed.

Probably while I like metal so much. Even their loves songs are inclined to be angry.

Hijack away! I find a thread becomes interesting when it takes on a life of its own.

Here's one I haven't heard in awhile...

I don't know if I saw 120 different concerts but I saw a hell of a lot. Rush was almost a monthly/yearly occurance
Max Webster
David Bowie
Queen
Genesis
Van Halen
Roger Daltry
U2 (in the second row at Massey Hall....)
Prince (saw that song erotic city live it was pretty hot with sheila E)
Supertramp
Cyndi Lauper (yeah that Cyndi Lauper lol)

etc etc etc etc

The FIRST concert was April Wine at the Pe****orough Memorial Center lol...I think I was 14......

Amy: the 1970's weren't all that much different than they are today, you just didn't hear about it much because of the isolation. Now with the internet, everyone hears about everything in under 45 minutes. The BIG difference now (and this is for chunky) is when two guys had something to settle, they did it with their hands, now? They do it with guns......

Another big difference was dope: $32.00 an ounce for REALLY REALLY good stuff.....I mean MIND blowingly good stuff lol.......

Tell me about it! I was a black hash guy... I got this stuff from "my guy" (apparently from Afghanistan), was soft as warm silly putty! Can't remember what I paid $60 for a 1/4 ounce I think... it was UNBELIEVABLE... not like the shit you get these days. :ouch:

As for concerts...

Fleetwood Mac
Queen
Genesis (3 times)
Van Halen
The Who
U2 (3 times)
Prism
Pink Floyd
AC DC
Rush (numerous times)
The Police (their "picnics" were EPIC!)
Supertramp
Trooper
Styx (3 times)
Yes
Loverboy (Bite me- I took my GF for her B-Day! And was WELL rewarded! :))
Roger Waters
Robert Plant
Chris Deburgh ((Bite me- I took my GF for our something and was WELL rewarded! :))
Asia
Kim Mitchell
Journey
Triumph
Doug & THe Slugs
Don Henley
Saga

As well as a few Jazz concerts (in my Saxophone phase)
Oh, and Buddy Rich, (THAT was amazing!)

Amongst others...

LOL yeah, the last time I tried hash the "brick" crumbled like stale bread......(and don't even get me started on the oil that was around....hence why I took up smoking cigs lol)

D'oh!

Maybe you're right... :arf:

But we are not really talking about doing that... we are reminiscing about the days of our misspent youth when we DID that...

Past tense... :)
