Sorry Skipper that retriever (the dog in the first clip) was retrieving and not saving anything, as you could see once it brought the deer ashore. Even I wasn't gullible enough to believe that dog was saving anything. The owner should have pulled the dog away from the deer once it brought it ashore, deer are very timid and often die of shock if handled wrong or to much, as the dog was continuing to do.you could see that the deer was frozen with fear when the dog started pawing at it.

Thanks Skipper, I appreciate that you are kind and want the dog to be doing something good, but I've watched it a few times, it was on one of my twitter feeds, and I still come to the same conclusion. The dog saw the deer as a "catch" not something it was saving as clearly indicated when the dog chased and downed the deer after letting it go upon coming to shore. The owners narrative does nothing to make me believe differently either. Thanks for sharing though

The dog is an animal and as such I would say it would eat the deer.....Such is the true nature of things.
