A good man. The replies got to me.

I have been where he is. It's not fun.

That’s why depression is a serious thing that needs to be taken care of. They need someone to talk to. This is a deadly emotional problem. This was really intense. Thank you officer! You are a real HERO!

Black Officer saves White Man. Yeah this wont be on CNN...

Typical. Cop shoots someone pointing a gun at him, it's page one news. Cop saves a life, no one cares

I’ve felt that pain before, and completely understand why he wanted to do what he wanted to do. I just wish I had somebody like this cop to talk to me.

Oh man I was choked up watching this I had a friend that was relying on prescribed medication the one day he couldn’t get it he hung himself..Watching things like this brings it all back to me and I really feel for this poor guy he must have some real issues in his life.. the officer was kind and caring compared to most they would of just thrown him in the back of the car handcuffs on not a care in the world so a great job by him.. Very very sad stuff

Poor guy is broken inside...hurting really bad. What a good cop. Very sincere and kind. People have to realize the good deeds done by the police , far out weigh the bad ones. Job well done!

THIS is a good example of a cop, going beyond the call of duty, and he deserves a public commendation.

Problem is though, compassionate cops like this, are the ones most likely to end up on the wrong end of a confrontation.

It's easier when the man doesn't want to jump and just looking for a little sympathy.

Agreed, this is often the case, but it still does not reduce what the cop did, which many would not have done.
