As most of you know I am a retiree. Have sacrificed, worked hard and made sure my kids understood what it takes to succeed without bullying your way through life. There are two stories here.

The first one is after leaving an old friend of mine's home I was astonished how his Grandchildren treated him with so much disrespect and with the give me give me syndrome and his own son not standing up for him. He is a good person and do wonder what he did wrong by having such bad kids. Is it the luck of the draw or he just didn't enforce the respect and be respected universal rule?.

My kids know not to take loved ones for granted.

On my walk home I saw a middle age couple looking around garbage cans looking for food. They approached me for money and gave them a couple of coins. Again is it because they are lazy to work, cannot find work or health wise?. Maybe they were wealthy at one point and lost it?.

Don't take your health and what you have become for granted. It may slip by you if you don't continue to value hard work, dedication and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Thanks for listening.

Good point....With everyday life we do take things for Granted...
I think also you teach this to kids, others etc......Remind people as
you have to remember or catch oneself.......

Good advice Lou. maybe your buddy was pussywept all his life which is not always a bad thing.

Respect is a word that does not mean the same anymore.

What a shame.

I so totally agree about not taking anything for granted! I stay grateful most of the time. And I like it that way.

Thanks for the reminder!
