Before some of you start with the attacks. I am a black male and not proud of these stats.

https://www.city-data.com/city/Flint-Michigan.html

Black alone - 57,451 (56.1%)
White alone - 36,537 (35.7%)

https://www.city-data.com/city/Detroit-Michigan.html

Black alone - 586,573 (82.2%)
White alone - 55,604 (7.8%)

https://www.city-data.com/city/St.-Louis-Missouri.html

Black alone - 156,389 (49.0%)
White alone - 134,702 (42.2%)

https://www.city-data.com/city/New-Haven-Connecticut.html

Black alone - 43,332 (33.4%)
White alone - 41,230 (31.8%

https://www.city-data.com/city/Memphis-Tennessee.html

Black alone - 408,075 (63.1%)
White alone - 177,735 (27.5%)

This has to be the biggest ratio % of all time for a North American city.

Black alone - 586,573 (82.2%)
White alone - 55,604 (7.8%)

ummm what do those stats mean? According to the flint stats, that's the percentage of blacks and whites (ignoring the other races listed). Are we assuming that because there are so many blacks that that is the reason they are the top 5 for crime?

One of the problems with making that assumption is that it could be that the minority (whites in this case) are the ones committing the crimes. Just like during the melee after the just desserts killings, 64% of the crimes being committed were committed by (the then) 48% black population....I mean if you look at a city that has a high percentage of chinese, you could also assume then that the high crime rate is because of the chinese. The only way to get an accurate picture is to look at the crimes themselves, and the perps caught.....

btw, this only proves the point i made the other day about whites being the new visible minority....someone was on here trying to say that they were black, and a visible minority, these stats prove otherwise......

I can only speak of Detroit and Flint, (both of which I have been to many, many times for work), and more so than the percentages of minorities, I think the lack of employment and low standard of living plays the major role.
