NEW YORK — Apple is the world’s most valuable company, ever.

On Monday, its surging stock propelled the company’s value to $621 billion, beating the record for market capitalization set by Microsoft Corp. in the heady days of the Internet boom.

Apple’s stock has hit new highs recently because of optimism around what is believed to be the impending launch of the iPhone 5, and possibly a smaller, cheaper iPad.

Apple Inc. has been the world’s most valuable company since the end of last year. It’s now worth 53 per cent more than No. 2 Exxon Mobil Corp.

Exxon is number 2 after paying all these lawsuits. You do have to wonder how much they are cheating us.

Some think that the price in a year will be in the $745 range, a further 11% increase. Their dividend is $2.45.
It you think I am going to tie up 650 bucks to make 2.45 you're nuts. This is a play PURELY for speculators.
With the coming pogrom I'd bail out of this stock into a firm that has a greater asset base.

The most valuable companies known to man are:

Mirage, Roommates, Dreammakers, GOE, Classy, Select, Vixens, Tristans, Sassy, Toronto Passions, and any other that I forgot.

Why the rich have a major advantage to us middle of the road workers. They can invest millions as compare to hundreds.

Rich or not, why would you invest in a company who issues distributions at a rate of .375%? I think there are much better places to invest your money. The "magic" of Berkshire-Hathaway has always been to "buy and hold" companies that are solid show a good return on their investment and reinvest the dividends.

A question....I want to know what would happen if it crash...Do you
think people have learn their lessons in not inverting in one company...
All so what about the strength to bully other companies...

Having all your eggs in one company is just silly in this day and age. Even investing in one sector (consumer electronics for example) show inherent risks that often if one company in that sector shows negative results it will effect the whole sector.
Inter corporate bullying really can only happen when there is one company who holds the vast majority of the market - much like Microsoft was rumored to have done.

Yes I heard about that when we were is Seattle, a few companies really, all with programs they
invented etc...I do not know how true....I thought Bell Canada was broken up so that they could not
be in total control over the telecom network.....I maybe wrong....I am just asking....

Something to ponder about.

The Economy:
· If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Delta Airlines one year ago, you would have $49.00 today.

If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in AIG one year ago, you would have $33.00 today.

.If you had purchased $1000 of Blackberry one year ago, you would have $82.00

.If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Lehman Brothers one year ago, you would have $0.00 today.

But, if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the aluminum cans for the recycling refund, you would have received $214.00 .

Based on the above, the best current investment plan is to drink heavily & recycle.

It is called the 401-Keg.
And as a bonus...

A recent study found that the average person walks about 900 miles a year.

Another study found that on average person drink 22 gallons
of alcohol a year. That means that the average person gets about 41 miles to the gallon!
