Tim Horton's found kids of bullying workers

They have to find a way to meet their bottom line. Paying $14 an hour for someone with zero education is mind blowing.

God , coming from you this is astonishing. Do you prefer your children to starve or live in the street? Do you even at $14 an believe it's a living wage for someone in Toronto?

What was the previous wage?
11 bucks?
So raising it 3 bucks is just over a 27% increase.

So now to be reasonable that 2 dollar sinker should be $2.54
That 3 dollar crappy coffee now costs $3.81.
That dollar menu item is now $1.27.

This is just break even.

I can answer that for God. Get a frieken education, sacrifice your time then they won't starve. Too many here are too comfortable collecting their monthly government cheques. Have you ever been to a corner store and watch how they spend our money on lottery tickets?.

It's a public relations nightmare for Tim Hortons. They are coming off as heartless SOB's. The staff didn't go on strike , didn't do anything to be shitted on by the company. They are actually profiting by making the cuts more than the increase and this is why this is happening.

Calls to boycott Tim Hortons over cutting worker benefits are growing, but some say the Ontario premier is to blame for pushing the minimum wage hike through.

These are the pieces of shit you and some here are defending....I hope Wynn finds a way to throw them in a coffee grinder.

Tim Hortons heirs encourage minimum wage employees to inherit their own coffee chains - The Beaverton

COBURG, ON — After cutting employee benefits and paid breaks, the heirs to the Tim Hortons fortune are encouraging their minimum wage employees to make up the lost earnings by inheriting multi-national coffee chains of their own.
“I understand our employees’ anxiety, but take it from me – inheriting an already-successful corporation is really easy,” explained Jeri Lynn Horton-Joyce, daughter of the late Tim Horton.
Following a provincial minimum wage hike to $14 per hour, the Tim Horton heirs claimed to have no choice by to slash paid breaks and benefits, before encouraging employees at their Coburg location to “explore their inheritanceoptions.” The counter staff was reportedly told to offset lost wages by checking if they are currently the heirs to other coffee chain fortunes, such as Starbucks or Country Style.
“Even in a pinch, inheriting the Coffee Time corporation would be worth something,” said Ron Joyce Jr. son of co-founder Ron Joyce.
The Joyces also emphasized the high income to work ratio of inheriting incredibly profitable businesses with established name brand and low overhead. “You don’t even have to sell good coffee or food,” added Joyce Jr.
“Also, if you just slap Canadian flags all over the place, the money just keeps rolling in with no effort required. So maybe try that and then you can pay for your own benefits,” continued the excited millionaire from the Florida mansion where he is currently wintering.
For those employees who really wanted to make it in today’s competitive workforce, the Joyces also recommended marrying someone with an even bigger inheritance than you have

So according to you increased costs do not affect prices?

My example reflect only the internal costs but the real effect is also seen in wholesale costs.
Fuel suppliers will raise prices to the haulers who deliver the goods and the cost rises.
Food Producers have an increase in cost and the wholesale cost of veggies, meats, grains ad coffee will rise.
Making my 27 percent increase work into a reality of 32 to 41% rise in retail costs.
Thus wiping out the effect of the increase ad creating even more lower paying jobs, by moving the poverty line.

Of course higher costs do bring higher prices but the cost of groceries (price fixing) , gas (price fixing), insurance (price fixing) have all tremendously gone up while the average frontline worker's wage has not . The CEO's have made out like bandits while the bottom rung folks have lived at an unsustainable wage.

Having more workers than jobs leads to low wages
When yo have more Jobs than Workers you see wages go up.

Don't be silly Jess. But thinking about it, all TH had to do is raise their coffee and donuts by 20 cents and would have solved this nonsense of taking away from their staff.

Why are you spending too much time at the corner store. It is quite expensive there. Go to No Frils or Food Basics. :biggrin2: Please dont Use the extra savings to purchase cigarettes.
