Safety on a smartphone:

• If your smartphone has a password feature, then enable it. If it has a timed password feature (e.g. no activity for X minutes), then enable it, keep the activity timer to at least 1 hour or less. That way a wandering spouse can't just notice your phone sitting there and start sneaking through it. This also helps somewhat in preventing theft of your phone by allowing you to lock down the phone automatically, making it useless for a thief. Often these password features are associated with a phone finder service, so it'll help in locating a missing cellphone too.
