I have myself always questioned as to why they are put there in the first place.

It really shouldn't. What should matter is that the officer be able to pass all of the required mental and physical test required to perform the duty of a police officer. The PC crowd wanted more women in the force and they got it often by lowering the standards for female applicants. Here is the logical result. Individuals who probably couldn't pass the physical requirements were passed anyhow....and now you have two officers on the street who probably shouldn't be there. This isn't because they are female, but because they didn't have the required traits. Hell, I wouldn't expect a 110lb, 5'2" scrawny little guy with no upper body strength to pass either.

I really hate to see obese officers too. You know they can't physically pass all the test either, yet you see them all the time. What every happened to standards?






And yes, male officers get taken down too. I think they need more training and to be frank, to have their handcuffs taken off so they can use force as necessary when someone resists without having to worry about their every move being scrutinized with a microscope. Officers are afraid to do their jobs any longer because people will sue them for anything....meanwhile, they're still expected to risk their lives dealing with some of the worst members of the public.
