in a jury trail if one person finds reasonable doubt you will walk free.

There is so much more that needs to be answered with this situation.
Fine, there is a right of passage regarding drinking and partying and learning from mistakes or getting sick; however, far too often, it has become the norm to go too far. It's not just because these two young men were football players; it's a culture that is fostered by communities feeding egos of young to professional athletes alike as untouchable. The Alabama Crimson Tide football program suspended 4 players and have now terminated their scholarships and thrown them out of school for assaults and robberies.
The victim and her family may or may not be happy with the decision but it's fair IMO. Why because these young will forever be registered sex-offenders, good luck getting into post-secondary schools, employment, they wouldn't even be eligible for military service and this stigma is for life. They only have themselves to blame for this and that is where the punishment fits the crime.
I'm not minimizing how or what the victim would feel and hope that she will heal and have the support she needs and deserves, but I think the impact of this sentence is fair, just and life changing. Be warned all teenagers and college/university students!

I too am not trying to minimize what happened, but remember that these are young kids. I'm sure we've all done things that we've regretted while we were young. Unfortunately some mistakes you can only afford to make once, and these kids did it and now their lives will forever be changed because of it.
Yes we all do get in trouble......like writing on the school walls, throwing eggs
at the neighbours door, playing knock knock......steal your neighbours
strawberries......but even Teenagers know the difference between this and
Rape, Drinking Driving, Drugs, etc......
We have to let people even Teenagers be responsible for their actions...
they did a long time ago.......you were sent to reform schools ....even military
service..........Stop excusing the young....let them grow up.....And be Responsible
for their Mistakes.....

RAPE IS A CRIME that dehumanizes the victim and is not a mistake. The mistake to the rapist is being caught. The rape on the other hand was not a whoops or I did not know which fork to use. IT IS A CRIME and should be treated as such.
