She punched her mother. Did she deserve to be taken down like this?.

The kid has issues no question there. I would have smacked her myself after she hit her mother. But the cop had to reason to act that way.

Yikes !!!!

Not sure what to say. You never hit your Mother then about the cop...would like to hear what he has to say.

Neither the mother or the daughter pressed charges so therefore on that fact alone I would say the whole issue should be dropped.

I totally disagree with you MB. The Officer had no right to attack her the way he did. Over use of force, he should be charged with assault regardless of what the 15 year old had done. He didn't need to bash her skull against a concrete wall, he's lucky she is not in a wheel chair or worse!!

If the attack was so egregious then why did she not press charges? Ask yourself that.

It has only been a day or two. If it was your daughter, even though she hit your wife. Would you let an ass like him hit her?. Think about it before you reply and do not give a double standard reply. You are not the only smart one here.

Hmmm

Hmmm

The reporter states the incident occured in January 2011, and I recall seeing it on youtube back then. How did it mysteriously disappear until now?

The girl is also shown pummelling her mother! She was also a student at a last chance behavioural school, and she was evidently drunk that is why her mother was there in the first place.

Great case the prosecution will have with no complainants to testify.

Here's a suggestion that the PD could do: Give the Officer a week off unpaid plus take away a week of vacation, a written reprimand on file, supervision notice on his performance appraisal, one year of no promotion ability and department counselling/training that will hurt him a great deal.

Like HOF states this incident happened quite some time ago so the ''It has only been a day or two'' argument is moot.

Given the past of the offender and her assaulting her mother I have no problem with the take down under these circumstances.

The fact that the video was hidden or taken down makes it more suspicious. I think the officer went over board with the take down. It is after all a only a 15 year old girl. I'm usually a police supporter, I believe they have a very difficult job but in this case I can't give the officer a pass.

One: the cop didn't "strike" her in any way shape or form
Two: Who knows what the kid said to the cop?
Three: what happened BEFORE the video "clip"? DId she wrestle away from the cop? Did she tell him to fuck off? Did she provoke him in any way?
Four: She was attempting to flee, therefore the cop had to take her down. No ifs ands or buts.
Five: did the cop tell her to stop? once? twice? if a cop tells you to stop, and you don't stop, whatever happens to you after that is YOUR fault......

I will say that yes, the cop was a little rough on her but she is far from a petite tiny little thing. If this had happened on grass, and there wasn't a wall there, would we be having this conversation? Furthermore, if it was a MAN her size and attitude would we be having this conversation?

Once again, we seen only a small part of the story, what the media wants us to see to create a story. Further to that, anyone who criticizes the cop, I will volunteer to follow you around 24/7 and the second you make any type of mistake, I'll post it all over the net. See how the shoe fits when it's on the other foot. How about that time you picked your nose while driving? How about that dangerous lane change you did on the 401? No one is perfect and we shouldn't expect cops to be.......

T-boy hit the nail on the head.
It would be like watching a video where a cop runs a car off the road and we only get to see that.
Not the guy hightailing it from his car through a school yard of children.
Its the problem with this "gotcha" attitude that exists now.
A story starts long before it caught your attention.

Tbot and SH, what are you guys on. Irrelevant what the girl told the cop. He hit her and hard, end of story.

here's the point> .
and here you are .............................................................> .

It matters IMMENSELY what she said to the cop. But it is not only that, she was fricken LEAVING aka Fleeing aka resisting arrest. ALL of which require the cop to take her down. Since she already exhibited a preponderance for violence, what was he supposed to do, let her wander off?

BTW: in case you missed it, he didn't hit her, he shoved her hard....

What's the issue here anyways? That she was female? Would you feel the same way if it was a guy the same height and weight? (I double dog dare you to answer that one.....)

It's excessive, whether a guy or a girl.

In football it's called a hit, as in "he was hit hard", or that was a "hard hit" without a punch being thrown. I believe that is the same use of the word hit in this context.

Thanks oddball, I don't have to waste my time replying to........

ummmm need I point out the difference between ummm a sport and this? And please, don't even THINK of comparing this to the "hits" (as you call them) in professional football. If the cop hit her like you're alluding to she wouldn't just have a scrape on her head, she'd be dead......

I knew you wouldn't respond Jack, I just knew it......

With shit like this the cops will eventually be afraid to even TOUCH someone let alone arrest them. The next time a cop let's a killer, rapist, or ?? get away don't come crying.....

I can see it now:
Cop: excuse me miss? Would you kindly step into the back of my police car?
Cop: No, ok then, off ya go...TOOTLES!!!

Oh hang on... I forgot - she's a little girl.
She obviously can't have a tendency towards violence and breaking the law.
My bad.

In that case, pull out the gun and wing 'er in the thigh, saves all that running.

Sarcasm at its best I presume.

Are we forgetting the girl in question didn't seem to having any reservations about pounding on her mother in the parking lot?

Yes she got taken down hard but she did initiate the situation from what I can see. Sometimes if you ask for it, it will find you.
