What do I need to be happy?

I use to think the love of friends would make me happy.
I use to think that owning property would make me happy.
I use to think that having money would make me happy.

Now I know that they may all bring me joy, but not always bring me contentment.

Friends won't make me happy, but they often ease the loneliness that is such a huge part of our world.
Property won't make me happy, but it will make me feel secure, and confident that I have a home.
Money will not make me happy, but it will lighten the stress I feel when I am worried about pending bills.

The only thing that can truly make ME happy is to learn to enjoy life just as I am. To be comfortable in my self to the point of accepting my positive and negative traits so that I can be the best ME there is... Hopefully that ME is able to touch the lives of others, and brighten their days as well.
