Yesterday I had bought some groceries, in my order I paid for 2 boxes of green tea, slip indicates they were paid for. Yet when I got home I had no green tea. would you just go buy more, or would you ask the store to give you two more boxes?

Sobey's are good that way, once when I was in anther city I had left two bags of groceries in the cart apparently, when I went back they were obviously gone. I went in the store to see if they were left there or if someone might have turned them in and the person in customer service told me to get what I had left behind, and they would cover it. That shocked me and that is great customer service.

Way I figure is if you make a mistake you pay for it.

They already gave you two bags of groceries.
Buy more tea and call it even.

I had exactly the same thing happen to me once Cristy, also at Sobey's. I got home to find that I had forgotten a bag at the cashier. I went back to inquire whether the cashier had noticed--no, and chances are the next customer took it along with his or her stuff. I didn't ask for it, but the customer service person followed me around the store, replacing everything I had left behind, and gave it to me, no charge.

Some how I knew you'd figure it that way:):wink2:lol. Those two bags of groceries I offered to pay for, actually argued to pay for, but they insisted and as Bolt affirms, they often do, and will replace groceries and maybe it was because I had spent over 200$ that day and what was left behind amounted to less than 40$ ....the tea, wasn't my mistake, and a different store, in a different province. I paid for it and obviously the cashier didn't bag it, or placed it somewhere other than in my bags, since I took all the bags with me this time....:)

If it isn't to far out of your way or an inconvenience then I would go back and explain the situation to them.

This has happened to me and the store was more than willing to compensate me for the misplaced items.

The store was Fortino's

^ Thanks Maurice, I find it embarrassing to do so, but think that is the right thing to do:)

I'd go back looking for the missed bag or items. If they offered to cover it, great, if not, NBD. Good on Sobey's, that's east coast hospitality.

I would not buy green tea. Grass clippings are free. :)

But, if I was missing something I would go back and ask about it. I have done this before and the missing item was replaced.

I have left stores empty handed and had cashiers chase me through the parking lot with my purchases. Really, it's one of the few ways I can get women to chase me.

I once forgot a tool box bought at Canadian Tire. Went back and explained what happened, they took my name and number but never called me back. Lat time I ever shopped there.

I would only go back if it's over $20. Not worth my time to make another trip.

I must say, I don't blame you. I'm not a fan and will only purchase something from there if I can't get it elsewhere. Regardless of the city or province I've found their customer service very poor.

I never forget anything I purchase. I value my money.

Unless I am too wasted. Then I wouldn't remember what I bought anyway.

Good customer service creates repeat customer in any business. I'm glad you were made whole Cristy.

.

I wouldn't expect them to make me whole but once they do they have me as a customer for life.

Customer acquisition and retention are the most important factors in creating a successful business.

I messed up my son's order at a restaurant the other day. When it came he wouldn't eat it (not his fault). I told the server and she wanted to give me the correct item for free. I refused as it was clearly my mistake and not hers nor the restaurants. I paid for both plates. That just seems the right thing to do when you are the one who made the mistake.

Class and integrity. Good example set for your boy! :good:

+1.

I have to admit that I would accept the free meal even if it was my mistake. One thing for sure, I would be a repeat customer.
