Keeping my short term insurance every 5 years has paid dividends.

Yours?.

Got a Lawyer...when my ex told me I did not need one....

Best thing I did was getting totally out of debt. I'm not rich, but I owe nothing.

I do use a credit card when necessary (car rentals, etc), but always pay it off within a few days.

Knowing when to move on in anything. I have left people, clients, businesses, investments, even certain family before. It is knowing exactly when to get out that has been the most successful for me. Just a couple of months ago I was starting a business relationship with someone, I was very excited. After a a very short time, I had a feeling that it would not be good in the long run. I got out and fast. Come to find out I was right. It was a gut feeling, but I always go with it. Saved me about 10K easy off the top and all the hassle and drama that happens with a sinking ship.

This is a close second. Living on credit is not for me for either. If I don't have the cash, I don't buy it. I have credit. I actually use my card daily. I get cash back and other rewards, so I use it. But I pay it weekly.

It is nice to know that my daughter's college is paid. Well as soon as she goes. Any car I buy, is mine. Vacations are paid for and never have to worry about "paying it off" when I get home. I don't understand how people live like that. That show "Until debt does us part" I am floored when I watch that. I don't get how people make XXXX but spend monthly YYYYYYY

I was watching Dr Oz the other day....the did CAT Scans on men and women brains....
What one of the things they were saying is women have a good sense of when something
is not right...an insight.......

I am in an issue with credit but that is due to divorce....but you are right about it...
That show is a good way of making you realize how much money one throws away....

Buying real estate in the 90s and Apple in 2000.

Buying NOrtel - Unfortunately I held on to it too long.

It's a very good idea to get rid of debt, i.e. residential home mortgages and credit debt. I highly recommend the use of a good financial planner.
