Go ahead and answer but also read this. Back them when a man gave his word he kept it.

Wow that's amazing. He probably knew the guys he left behind would suffer if he didn't go back.

I don't make promises lightly, but when I do, I keep my word. It might be old fashioned, but being a person of integrity means a lot to me. I'm always amazed when I run into people who really don't care what's right or what's true, as long as they win.

How about you Boing?? Now that we're friends, you should tell me a bit about yourself. :wink2:

Actually no Ms Sarah.

‘Capt Campbell was an officer and he made a promise on his honour to go back,’ he said. ‘Had he not turned up there would not have been any retribution on any other prisoners.

More amazing than ever then!

Always do. For my dick, well that is another story.

Yup, more often than not that's for sure. Irks me when people don't deliver and there's no good reason.

I make every effort possible not to make any form of promise, or give my word. And if I do, I don't really fuckin' care. I mean most people don't mind breaking out the BS on me, so I shouldn't hold myself to a higher standard.

Having grown up in a manipulative, dysfunctional home, and being a Nice Guy, lies are pretty much second nature to me, though I don't like them.

Ok I will lie and say yes but realistically it has been proven that husbands tell their wives all secrets told by their friends and vice versa.

I went the other way. If I make a promise, I do keep it. Always. However, I don't make promises easily at all and I don't play the word games that will "let me out of it" either. That is not to say that I have not lied before and will not again, but I have never broken a promise.

Promises to myself I rarely keep ( I promise to not drink wine on Mondays etc), promises to others I always keep. I try to limit them to things I have total control of so that I can be sure that I do.

Always do! If for some reason (like a 1 in a 1000 chance) something happens that keeps me from holding it, I offer a sincere apology and do my absolute best to make amends and regain trust. All I will ever have is my name.
