I guess they cut off the shooting part.

On Dec. 1, 2013, a Kansas City police officer, off duty and working security at a downtown hotel, shot and killed an off-duty firefighter after an altercation.

The full case file was released by police today, Feb. 25, 2014. Among the items were several videos. The Star is posting one of those, showing the final confrontation between the officer and the suspect, because it was key evidence considered by the grand jury, which on Feb. 14 declined to file charges in the case.

Some profanities from onlookers were edited out, as were scenes after the shooting showing the suspect's body. Viewer discretion is advised, as the video contains graphic scenes including intense fighting and sounds of gunshots.

Hate to say it but the cop needs to take some Jui jitsu classes.

To get reversed like that is just embarrassing.

If the cop is in uniform, regardless of off paid duty service or not, he/she is still the law. We don't know what led to the incident so I wouldn't speculate on that but the fire-fighter should know to allow the process as whatever more than likely would have been resolved by superiors.

Bosco is absolutely correct. The cop had him in a position where he could have used a wrist/armpit lock and placed him flat-faced down; then secured handcuffs using pressure points. But I guess instead of staying in control and allowing adrenaline to take over the cop thought he could muscle the guy.

As Bosco said, that cop needs major training if he is to be dealing with the tough thugs.
