A male dog would just walk away. We don't have the maternal gene in us.

Young 'Star Wars' fans gets own 3D printed trooper arm

On Saturday afternoon, 7-year-old Liam Porter went to the movies with his friends in Augusta, Georgia.

Shortly after he left the theatre, he spotted Imperial Stormtroopers marching toward him.

A huge fan of the Clone Troopers from Star Wars, Liam was thrilled.

What he and his family didn’t know was that the troopers were there to surprise Liam with a new 3D-printed prosthetic arm that resembled a Clone Trooper’s arm. Paired with the new arm was a Clone Trooper helmet — and an invitation to join the 501st Legion, a fan organization dedication to wearing accurate Imperial costumes.

Eat your heart out, Lassie!

Masha, a long-haired tabby cat, saved the life of a baby abandoned in the streets of Russia — after she climbed into the box he was discarded in and kept him warm, health officials said.

“The baby had only been outside for a few hours and thanks to Masha … he was not damaged by the experience,” a hospital spokesman told Central European News.
The whiskered hero even meowed to get the attention of a passerby.

“She is very placid and friendly, so when I heard her meowing, I thought that perhaps she had injured herself,” said Obninsk city resident Irna Lavora. “Normally she would have come and said hello to me. You can imagine my shock when I saw her lying in a box next to a baby.”

Masha is a communal cat who is looked after by local residents. When she found the baby — who appeared to be in great shape — she immediately took to him as if he were her own, according to CEN.

“Clearly her mothering instincts had taken over and she wanted to protect the child,” Larova explained. “He was well-dressed with a little hat, and whoever left him here had even left a few nappies and some baby food.”

The baby was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where he was given a checkup and declared fit and healthy, officials said. Since the child was found, Masha has been hailed as a hero by local residents — and she’s been reaping the benefits.

“Everyone in the block is very proud of her,” Lavora said. “We have all spoiled her rotten by giving her her favorite food.”

It took two months for the error at the Florida office to be spotted

A rug has been removed from a sheriff's office in Florida after it was noticed that it read "in dog we trust" instead of "in God we trust".

The $500 (£329) mat lay at the entrance to the office in Pinellas County for two months before someone noticed, a spokeswoman said.

The error was made by the rug's manufacturer and it is being replaced.

Pinellas Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said they were looking at auctioning it for charity, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
There have been several offers to buy the misprinted rug .

"I'd buy or donate to a charity to get one," wrote one user on the office's Facebook page.

"I'm a great dog person and really find that a rug like that would be wonderful for my dogs to have for beds," wrote another.
The rug was put away on Wednesday after a deputy spotted the mistake.

"In God we trust" was adopted as the national motto of the US in 1956. It is also the official motto of Florida.
