29-year-old 'man-baby' sues parents for not financially supporting him

In China, a man and his wife practiced some tough love and kicked their adult child out of the house. Now their 29-year-old unemployed son is suing them for not taking care of his financial needs.

Kuang Zhengxuan has become rather infamous on Chinese social media for expecting his parents to continue financially supporting him at almost 30. His decision to sue his parents for neglecting to fund his lazy lifestyle earned him the unfortunate nickname of “man-baby.”

According to news reports, Kuang’s parents grew tired of his mooching — they claim he refused to work and spent most of his time sleeping and playing with his cell phone — so they asked him to move out. "I cannot continue to financially support my 29-year-old son," Kuang’s father, a migrant worker, explained.

Kuang wasn’t just grumpy about the move, he was ready to take legal action. "Actually, I do not want to become a kenlaozu (a healthy adult still relying on their parents), but I cannot support myself,” he insisted to local media. “I don’t have the abilities, but they do. Why can’t they raise me?” he told CCTV News. “I can’t support myself,” he said. “My parents have enough resources to take care of me but they don’t, so I want to sue them.”

Kuang certainly isn’t the only adult seeking cash from mom and dad. CCTV reported that a large number of adults still rely on their parents for financial support in China, with about 65 per cent of parents still raising their adult children to some degree.

Kuang quit school at a young age and took up two valuable skills: woodworking and hair cutting. Apparently he wasn’t too keen on “the laborious nature of craftsmanship" and failed to pursue either avenue with much determination. After enduring a few odd jobs — and being falsely accused of stealing at his job site — he came to the conclusion that he had no real abilities and wasn’t cut out for work.

Of course, when you’re kicked out of your parents’ house, you do need to make some money. So far, Kuang has found part-time work as a portrait model at an art school, a job that — surprise, surprise — doesn’t suit him either. “It’s also exhausting being a portrait model. I have to sit still for 4 to 5 hours each time. And it’s not stable. There might be no case for you tomorrow,” he explained.

Kuang should be careful with that lawsuit. His parents have the right to file their own one day. In China, elderly parents can sue their children for financial and emotional support.

‘Dancing’ baby bear delights golfers, before stealing their golf ball

VANCOUVER – A video shot by some golfers in the Columbia Valley is gaining some attention online.

A baby black bear was spotted at the 15th hole of the Mountainside Golf Course at the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. Andi Dzilums knew he had to capture in on camera.

The bear started dancing and playing with the flagstick while some other bears in the background looked on.

The mischievous bear then stole one of the golfer’s balls and took off.

IT sounds like a scene from a Police Academy movie.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) has been forced to apologise for accidentally leaving behind a suitcase at Sydney Airport containing 230 grams of a plastic explosive after a dog training exercise.
The bomb had been hidden in an unclaimed suitcase during the training, which took place last month. It wasn’t live, according to a statement released on the .

However it was found just this week when a travelling woman was offered a replacement suitcase after hers was damaged during a flight.

She found the explosive inside and took it straight to Cessnock Police Station, where officers cleared the building as a safety precaution.

AFP Sydney Airport Commander Wayne Buchhorn apologised to travellers and said the incident will be investigated.
“The AFP takes this error seriously and the canine instructor who inadvertently left this device behind has been identified and will be the subject of a formal Professional Standards Investigation,” he said.

“Although the travelling public was not in danger at any time, we regularly review our processes in this area, and we will do again in the light of this incident.

“This type of training is essential for our canine teams, allowing the dogs to experience potential threats in a real environment,” he said adding he wanted to thank the woman for her help.

However that hasn’t stopped the gaffe going viral, with Twitter users quick to have a laugh at the AFP’s expense.

North Korea jails US man Matthew Miller for six years

During the trial, prosecutors said Mr Miller admitted having a "wild ambition" to spend time in a North Korean prison so he could find out about the country's human rights situation, the Associated Press (AP) reports.

According to KCNA, Mr Miller tore up his tourist visa on arrival in the country and shouted that "he came to the DPRK [North Korea] after choosing it as a shelter." In a brief interview with CNN earlier this month, attended by North Korean officials, Mr Miller said: "I will say that I prepared to violate the law of the DPRK before coming here." He also said he deliberately committed his "crime", although he did not specify what he had done wrong.

Goldfish recovering after 'high-risk' tumour removal Hmmmmmm

A goldfish in Australia is recovering from surgery after a life-threatening tumour was removed from its brain in a "high-risk" operation. George, whose owner lives in Melbourne, was put under general anaesthetic for the $200 (£125) procedure.

Dr Tristan Rich, who carried out the operation, told Melbourne's 3AW radio station that the fish was now "up and about and swimming around". Vets say the 10-year-old fish is now expected to live for another 20 years.

"George had a quite large tumour on the top of his head that was growing slowly, and it was beginning to affect his quality of life," Dr Rich from the Lort Smith Animal Hospital said.

George's owner was given the choice between an operation or having the fish put to sleep. "She was dedicated enough to give it a go," he said. He added that the fish was kept alive by pumping oxygenated pond water through its gills.

Dr Rich described the 45-minute operation as "fiddly".

What a waste of resources. Goldfish can be replaced....that technology and resources could have gone to help some homeless person! (where are the bleeding hearts?)

I often wonder about the heroic efforts that are made to save animals. Why not just put them out of their misery?

I think a lot of the pet owners will tell you that their pet is the same as their family.
