Going further in Mr. Peabody's Wayback Machine I remember the first pocket calculator that I ever saw. Its belonged to a buddy and the best it was for was to verify the calculations that you had done.
2+2=..............................................................................waiting........................................4

As well the first HP calulators that came out in "RPN" aka Reverse Polish Notation

Ok how about saving quarters to go to the arcade in the mall to line up to play pac man...defender...or the early ping pong game.

speedo t shirts, tube tops and satin short shorts....the time before thongs....when bikini panties were naughty!

and speaking of computers I still have a COLECOVISION ADAM family computer system in the box.
complete with "2 memory syatems 80 K ram expandable to 144K and the unique tape storage system(they used cassette tapes for memory)" ran dam busters and buck rogers I think....Internet whats an internet??????

Record LP's made from different colored vinyl often with images on them. Used to go to the Record Peddler on Bloor (I think) to get some rarities.

Geeze, talking about bulletin boards...

I had two phone lines into my house into 1200 baud modems, running Opus BBS software, on a 286. I had my computer right next to my bed and the phone would ring, I'd swing my legs out onto the floor and keyboard chat with whoever...

My BBS was called The Taxi Stand, and we had a message area called The Flirting Spot, where we thought it was fun to chat using emoticon like this ( @ )( @ )...

It was set up to exchange mail with another computer, who was connected to another, etc etc, and so.. we had messages from all over North America... I think it was called FidoNet...

I was just getting ready to buy and install a 5 line PCBoard system, when the WWW opened....

Yep... I also remember the original IBM PC and the original Apple II. My dad bought the Apple II from the Computerland store in Burlington to run his accounting business... took it back a week later when he discovered he couldn't use any other programs on it. That's when he got the PC! (And Visicalc, and Word Vision...)

I loved it because every time he upgraded to a new PC (every 1 1/2 - 2 yrs), I would get his old one! :)

You know your old when you reminisce about the early days of the World Wide Web and think of Compuserve and original text only Bulletin boards. :gasp:
I remember Q107 running ads and spelling out their entire web address.
It was something like:

You had to type it out completely or you couldnt reach their site

My first razor was a Remington Mark IV

You know you're old when you learn most Canadians today weren't alive when man first landed on the moon in 1969. I still remember that day clearly.

I was at a picnic and we had the transistor radio on and listening to it.

One Small Step for man, one giant step for mankind.

Back then we thought by now there would be a moon base.

Moon Base Alpha!

When you remember, 'Goodnight John-boy'.

I preferred Mary Ellen myself and she a little Playboy spread if I remember after the show left the air. Nice bush in the pics.
