Police in The Netherlands are investigating after a 12-year-old girl gave birth during a school trip.
The girl from Groningen, located 180 km north of Amsterdam, gave birth to a healthy baby girl on March 22, police said in a release Wednesday.
While the legal age of consent is 12 in the Netherlands, the girl would have become pregnant at 11, police said.
Police say they are "now investigating who the father is. At this moment, there is no known suspect."
But the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf said the girl's father is a person of interest in the case.
The girl lives with her father and brother. The father was given custody after he divorced the girl's mother, the newspaper said, despite having been convicted of another sexual offense against another daughter from another woman. He served two years in jail for that crime.

That would be my thought process as well! Saw a show on TV the other day though where a 30ish year old gave birth of a full term daughter, and she had no idea she was pregnant!

I hate to say it but I can believe it could happen.
But seriously what country allows an age of consent of 12!!!! Without being gross, I seriously dont believe most 12 year olds are physically ready for sexual relations let alone emotionally or cognitively developed to a point where they can make this choice.

They probably still have a driving age of 16 and a voting/drinking age of 18 (I assume) but consentual sex at 12, frankly I find the whole idea disturbing. If the girl had been a few months older, then this would all have been ok, just the fact that she had to be having sex a few months before her birthday to be so far along makes it wrong???!!!:shock::neutral:

Scotty: it wasn't too long ago (and I'm NOT getting into how many generations again lol) that the typical marrying age in north america was 13.....shit, I remember reading that a woman was an "old lady past her prime" at 20.

Not saying anything against anyone's kids, but I have known 12 and 13 yr olds who were 12 going on 20 and fully (or almost fully) developed.

With the shit that's going into our drinking water, they are starting to find female hormones and I read a report that kids are going to start maturing at 10 now. There has been some reports of this already happening.

I too think this is disgusting that a country would have the AOC at such a young age, but I bet they just haven't addressed this in their law books as yet.

What a surprise a dad with a previous history of abusing daughters and a pregnant 12 year old who didnt even know she was pregnant.
This guy needs to be castrated once and for all and locked up for good.
Any country that has an age of consent of 12 also has its head too far up its liberal ASS
12 year olds are still kids and need protection, rules and parents not sexual liberation!
