Mixed feelings on chiropractors. My experience is the initial treatment helped overcome the injury, the ongoing treatments made it worse.
I had a bad back injury at work, taken to hospital and x-ray'd.
Spine obviously out of wac, bad curves in the wrong places, pulled muscles all over. The doctor told me she's not allowed to recommend chiropractor, but if anyone ever needed a chiro, I did. But she's not allowed to tell me that.
the Chiropractor adjusted me for some immediate relief. Amazing!
But every return visit didn't help. I did physio for a year. And then stayed in shape at the gym.
When I quit the gym, back pain came back.
Now that I go to the gym regularly, I never have back pain.
the best thing for back pain is ab work. All core exercises will help. All cardio will help your back. Run, bike, eliptcal, stairs, whatever. Get moving and your spinal problems will disappear.
Rowing machine is the best thearapy.
Obviously, real spine injuries may need treatment or surgery, but exercise will help your recovery from that as well.
I've also had both knees and both shoulders operated on. I know pain. And the thing that keeps the pain away is activity.
I can't run far and I can't do heavy weights, that would re-injure. But bike, elliptical and lots of reps with lighter weights keeps me going.
