Anyone own a GoPro Camera?

Giving one to my kid for Xmas and really looking forward to seeing what she can come up with in terms of cool video recordings. Right now, I can see biking, swimming, boogie board, jet ski, ATV, snow sled, ski-doo, skateboard, roller hockey, attaching to the cat...any other cool ideas a 12 yo could try?

That's the one. We bought a bunch of other gadgets to attach to things like handle bars and helmet. Price was about what the online list shows. Bought the spare battery pack too.

I have three, all different generations. One is almost permanently attached to my motorcycle, and the other two get used as appropriate (one's always in my car). Love those beasties.

So as an update to this thread, does anyone have any idea how many anal retentives are there worrying that they're being spied upon, or deliberately and illegally recorded by a 12 yo girl?!

So far we've been to the municipal pool to jump off the tower platform, the ice skating rink, and the local go kart track - each time some wank made a fuss and demanded she turn off her camera.

Get over yourselves people! YOU'RE NOT THAT FUCKING INTERESTING TO ANYONE ELSE BUT YOU!!!!!

I'm not sure how heavy the camera is, but could you send one aloft with a bunch of balloons? Keep the rig tethered with a long string and use it to get a bird's eye view of the neighborhood.

People can really be jerks sometimes! I hope it doesn't happen as you guys continue to explore the different activities you can record with it.

I believe they are water proof inside it's case, take it snorkeling at a warm Caribbean island..
