Blonde? Brunette? Redhead?

How important to you is a woman's hair color? Should hair color be one word? Haircolor? That doesn't look right.

We were talking at work today about it, and I was saying that men react to me differently when my hair color is different. I'm clearly most approachable as a brunette. They talk to me like I'm stupid when I'm blonde, and it seems that as a redhead I'm intimidating.

So does the color of a woman's hair affect how you perceive her?

I've been various shades of brunette since last fall, it's time for a change. I'm torn between this

I'll save blonde for later in the summer. This time I think it's definitely red. With lots of highlights. and lowlights.
I think my hairdresser might be shopping for a new car.

I grew up around reds, many of my relatives are natural redheads and varying shades of, so that is what I find attractive, but not simply because of hair, but because of the pale skin, light eyes, the over all coloring of a true red. Although I've seen some unnatural reds that were also very alluring. We shouldn't forget about those pretty shades of pinks, blues and greens, some look very pretty in those as well. Whatever color you choose make it the one you like, never let another's likes or dislikes influence how you feel about your own. All colors look good when they're matched to the right skin and eye color and if you've no hair, that too can look good Be you

Half the time when a woman appears to have great hair, it's just a wig, and her real hair is like a maggot in Marine Corps boot camp. Much of the rest of the time, it's just whatever shade she wants to be at the moment. All those chemicals used to change hair color, of course, damage the hair, and make it go prematurely grey.

My least favorite is 'bottle blonde' platinum, with black eyebrows and roots. 90% of the time, those women look great from behind, but somewhat disappointing from the front.

A truly confident woman will stay with what nature gave her, on her head. This would be assessed at around puberty, ie: A woman who was naturally blonde in junior high has the right to consider herself a 'natural blonde', and if her hair darkened later, 'reclaiming' the color from her youth is acceptable.

A woman who was blonde only until grade two or so is a 'natural light brunette'. The woman with platinum blonde hair with black eyebrows and roots looks like $80 for half an hour, and the woman who changes her hair color more than twice per year probably 'reinvents herself' too often, or is 'running from creditors'.

Any 'non homogeneous' color looks good, as does black hair with blue or violet eyes.

I often think it's cute when the young'uns go pink or some other fun color. I often think it's ridiculous when a woman my age does it.

I so wanted to be Ginger when I was little. hahaha that might explain a few things.

Hair color (haircolor) makes no difference to me. It can look odd when some people dye with a color that doesn't match them. There is a lady I see around work who has beautiful blonde hair.....but when you walk up and see her face, it looks like a wig it's so wrong for her. I think she's asian and trying to look younger than her age....but it's just weird.

Blonde is the trickiest about matching to the skin tone. At least I think it is, judging by how many get it so very, very wrong.

Agree about the chemicals doing damage. I always do a major deep-condition within a few days of color, then again once or twice before I go back. And I avoid putting heat on it as much as I can.

Do you really consider a color change a reinvention? Jinkies, it's just hair color. Mine changes almost monthly - not always a lot, sometimes it's just a little tweak. A few times a year there's a more major change, such as what's coming next week. I'm not hiding from creditors or anyone else, I'm just easily bored.

Most men would, however, immediately notice a breast augmentation, reduction, or lift, even if you had only chatted with them in an elevator once or twice, or purchased a coffee from them, etc. About half of men would not recognize you if you wore your hair up, and wore glasses, unless that's your usual look. Things about a woman that most men who know you casually will notice, when they aren't the same: Make up, lingerie, waist or leg size/ tone, fancy clothing vs casual, intoxication level, skin blemishes, face lift, finger or toe nail polish color, ring addition or removal.

Things those same men will not notice: Shoes, handbags, manicure, opinions, mood.

If a man whom you do not know well notices a change to something that other men would not notice, he is either a secret admirer, a stalker, or he is gay. I thought every woman knew all this, by the time they were old enough to publicly consume alcohol with a fake ID. One would certainly have expected YOU, by your age, to have already learned this.

This is why I only blowdry the bangs. The rest of it air dries. Or not, depending on what I do with it.

and this morning I saturated every strand with coconut oil, followed by conditioner, and now it's up in a towel doing its conditioning thing for hours.

It's all a way of apologizing to my hair for the color chemicals. :sorry2: My hairdresser approves even though it means I won't let him play with the cut. I can do a lot of different things with it at this length, and I like that.
