The world's eyes are on Canada as gruesome details continue to emerge from Col. Russell Williams' court hearing. Williams pleaded guilty Monday to the murders of Marie Comeau, 38, and Jessica Lloyd, 27.

He also pleaded guilty to two sexual assaults and dozens of break-ins, where he went into girls' rooms — some as young as 11 and 12 — and stole their underwear and performed lewd acts.

This case makes me sick! He should be locked up and have the key thrown away... :grrrrrr:

Having said that, at least he's pleading guilty to everything and saving a pile of "due process" aggravation and expense. :???:

Yes but he gets to keep his pension. Three daily meals a day and access to TV and books. Now that is a crime that tax payers have to pay for it.

HOLY CRAP! :gasp:

What are the odds!

I just read the complete article in the Toronto Star. Do not let your young ones read it. They would lose faith in men.

I'm not even going to read it for myself! The highlights alone are enough to piss me right off! :grrrrrr: Let alone the details!

With any luck at all he'll get locked up in general population.

I'm disappointed by the media who have gone for the sensationalism aspect by posting pictures of Williams in womens'/girls' underwear. I feel sorry for the number of perfectly sane men who happen to fancy a little frill, as this is only going to increase the stigma surrounding cross-dressing.

I couldn't agree more. I've been ranting about this elsewhere for the last day or so, so I won't rehash all the details, but I find it ridiculous that the pictures are accompanied by a "WARNING: Contains graphic and disturbing images" disclaimer. I think he looks kinda silly in those clothes, but I don't think the pictures are "graphic" and certainly don't find them "disturbing." Rape and murder are plenty disturbing in their own right, but the pictures require a disclaimer? Give me a break! :grrrrrr:

Not to mention the inference of causal links between his sexual proclivities and his reprehensible acts of rape and murder. The way the media is portraying it, his crossdressing was the first step in a downward spiral into sexual assault and murder, which is another ridiculous claim with no merit whatsoever. There are plenty of murderers and rapists who don't crossdress, but nobody ever suggests that doing missionary with the wife is the first act of "sexual depravity" that leads them to rape and kill...

I have absolutely no sympathy for the murderous rapist as it is, but I can't see how pictures of him in lingerie should make anyone more outraged than they should have been before. Rape and murder are more than enough reason to call him a monster, but connecting these acts with his obvious gender dysphoria is grasping at straws. I'm surprised we haven't seen more Norman Bates/Buffalo Bill comparisons yet, but I guess the media is just biding their time...

The fact that he was breaking into the young girls room and masturbating while wearing the clothing is as sick as it comes. When you put the content of the article with the picture it is quite disturbing. Personally I hope he gets his ass ripped apart when he bends over to pick up the soap while showering in prison.

Why is he not being court marshalled????

Nikki,

Your comments regarding crossdressing not being a pre curser to rape and murder are absolutely correct. However, given the horror of this case I think it's a little trivail to winge about whether cross dressers are being given a bad rap right now.

In William's case there is a huge difference. 99.999% of cross dressers do not break into the homes of women and young girls and steal the objects of their fetish. The fact that this man did just that, indicates that his cross dressing was just the icing. His real cake was the violation of their privacy, their identity, their dignity, their bodies and finally their lives. The problem in the reporting is that the case is being heard over several days and yesterday we heard about his proclavity for cross dressing but it is now almost lost in comparison to today's revaleations about the unbelievable cruelty that Williams showed his victims. Williams is a very sick man who happens to cross dress. I think that the general public may find cross dressing a little quirky. They realise that this man is very seriously twisted and have a right to wonder why none of it was uncovered in the psycological training that was done on him as he rose through the ranks. MM

Just a few thoughts...

Is society sick and twisted for being fascinated by disturbing sex crimes? Is it okay as long as we also claim to be disgusted and angry by the behaviour?
Do men get into it more than women?
The media and our culture thrives on this type of gore, I wonder if it breeds even more?

I agree it does make you somewhat ashamed that you are of the same sex as him.

Lets hope this guy finds some way of committing suicide while in solitary confinement.

No that would be too easy. Needs to have a couple of beatings first and something long and thick up his _ _ _.

That really makes me angry!

Confessed killer Russell Williams has been stripped of his rank and is being expelled from the Canadian Forces. Governor-General David Johnston approved the move, the military said in an internal email Friday.

“With the conviction and sentencing completed, and following my recommendation, the Governor-General has revoked his commission, an extraordinary and severe decision that may constitute a first of its kind in Canadian history,” Chief of Defence Staff General Walt Natynczyk wrote in an email to fellow soldiers.

He will initially go to the SHU ( Special Handling Unit) as all of his ilk do.

He will spend roughly 23 hours a day in solitary confinement for the rest of his life, that will take an huge (but well deserved) toll on him over time.

It is extremely doubtful that he will ever be released.

Any money he has, or that comes in via pension, should be garnished by his victims if they have any sense at all. Even if it goes to a charity, it is better that his victims garnish his pension forever rather than allowing him spending money at the Kingston Penitentiary canteen.

From my point of view it is rather sad that the trial judge did not give a greater financial penalty for restitution. This means the victims must pay a lawyer to go to court to sue him. Why the hell is that necessary, the trial judge at the criminal proceedings could have simply ordered $200 million payable to the victims and set a schedule of payments and priorities and everything else would not have been necessary.
