Sickening how some companies (oil, insurance and the telecoms) seem to be able to do whatever they like. I would love to see the donations given to the different political parties from these companies.:grrrrrr:

Where is the voice of dissent with the gas prices, telecoms etc, our neighbours to the south would be far less likely to just grin and bear it.
You know this is just the first step...40g for $5 is just to get us used to paying and prevent a major outcry, the prices will edge up to what the market will bear just as gas prices have.

Where is the anti combines/monopoly act in all this.
I see they went in and slapped the realtors for restrictive trade practices (hoarding mls and fixed commission rates stuff) but they have no problem with the fact that each night gas prices change simultaneously at midnight, and that some guy is on the radio hours before telling you how much it will change (an mpp or mp I believe), or that they are only paying lip service to competition in the internet market.
