Got in to see my GP today about my knee. To me, it's feeling pretty good, except when I get tired it gets unstable, and if I twist the knee/foot. So I was hoping to move into at least a lighter brace and go back to work on modified.
Well it seems my Doctor doesn't feel the same way. He believes it's a partial tear of the MCL, which means four more weeks in a Zimmer split, four weeks off work, and 4 weeks of no Muay Thai or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Damn it!!
Yes, 4 weeks of wearing this...
What sucks is that I've been off two weeks already, and just got the paperwork to file for STD today, and now I get to file for STD through EI as well. Got to wonder how long it'll take my EI to be processed. Last time, when I broke my leg, I was back to work for two weeks before I saw a penny. :SayWhat?:
Meanwhile, what to do with myself for another four weeks? Sure, I've been hitting the gym every day. Bench, 1 arm push ups, pistol squats, chin ups and 1 armed TRX rows, but still. Maurice, what can I do to keep my cardio conditioning up? Battle ropes? Hopping rope? My gym doesn't have those hand bikes.
Who knows, look for another job that will let me work while crippled.
Thanks for letting me vent.
