Made with Love

Did you know?.

3. A pig's orgasm lasts for 30 minutes.

(In my next life I want to be a pig)

(How'd they figure this out, and why?)

:lol::lol:

14. Some lions mate over 50 times a day.

(In my next life I still want to be a pig ... quality over quantity)

By the time Snopes runs through that list I bet half of them are bullshit

6. The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue.

(Hmmmmmmmmm........)
The statement that "the tongue is the strongest muscle in the body" appears frequently in lists of surprising facts, but it is difficult to find any definition of "strength" that would make this statement true. Note that the tongue consists of sixteen muscles, not one.

I believe that other facts can be disputed too, like farting for years to produce enough methane for an atomic bomb. First, it doesn't say anything about fart rate, that results in total quantity of fart produced. Second, fart contains various gasses, depending on food eaten, methane being the most important for combustion purposes. Assuming that the quantity is known, it's easy to calculate how much energy can be released, but I'm too lazy to do the math

FACTS ONLY/THE DID YOU KNOW OR NOT KNOW PLUS LEARN FROM THIS THREAD.

Music really does make the world go round!

Often when a music thread is created, it is about a specific genre, time period or expansion of one's knowledge, so I was thinking why not try to pull them altogether and create a music history thread.

I enjoy all types of music, but I do have specific genres that I favour and there are a few that just don't make any sense to me, but it's not about me, it's about the music and I certainly can respect someone's art and craft.

Bad Company, although not my favourite band, took a bunch of Englishmen and made Southern Rock really cool. Their members came from bands such as Free, Mott-the-Hople and King Crimson and their lead singer Paul Rodgers was instrumental in the development of many other singers style such as Freddie Mercury, John Waite, John Mellencamp and Paul Young to name a few.

Okay, so the theme is post but also post some history of the band and/or its members or evolution.

Bad Company with Paul Rodgers (coincidentally, he has been the frontman for Queen at Brian May's request)

Bad Company evolved in the 80's and Paul Rodgers wasn't in the plan. The new frontman was Brian Howe, who was discovered by Ted Nugent.

When I first heard Brian Howe as the lead singer of Bad Company, I actually thought it was Lou Gramm (who was also influenced by Paul Rodgers style)

Brian Howe as Bad Company's frontman, again I thought it was Lou Gramm from Foreigner fame.

This was a rock ballad anthem when I was a teen and the girl in the video reminds me of someone from along time ago.

Simpler times for many of us.

The pride of Rochester, NY.
Lou Grammatico

aka

Lou Gramm
frontman for Foreigner

Similar sound to Brian Howe of Bad Company.

80's rock ballads!:-Cool/"

Oh yeah, that Paul Rodgers guy was the frontman for FREE!

The drummer for FREE was also the drummer for Bad Company!

Simon Kirke, the drummer for FREE & Bad Company

has a daughter named Jemima Kirke and she is a star on an HBO show called GIRLS

Simon Kirke is also on the board of governors for the Grammy Awards.

Somone else's turn to contribute please.

In the 80's, when I was a teen, there was another British Invasion, which incorporated several musical genres, punk, rock, reggae, r & b and these with some others formed a music known as 'New Wave & Ska"

This band led by Paul Weller formed in the early 70's and never really knew which way to go, but had a hit song in the 80s!

Paul Weller went onto bigger and better things with:

The Style Council

"Shout to the top"

Paul Weller

&

Mick Talbot
(formerly of the Jam as well)

formed this band which had international success.

The Style Council
helped launch the careers of some great female vocalists Tracey Thorn (EBTG & Massive Attack) & Tasmin Archer

I'll admit that Tracey Thorn is very average, even below average looking

but

if she were to sing to me, I'd close my eyes and enjoy the ride.

Tracey Thorn

'Protection'

with

Massive Attack

BTW

for the younger generation on HUBGFE

Massive Attack would be similar to Deadmau5
