Made with Love

Did you know?.

STYX - Tommy Shaw, James “JY” Young, Lawrence Gowan, Todd Sucherman and Ricky Phillips (along with the occasional surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo), have performed more live since ’99 than all of the previous years of its career combined. Two Super-Bowl appearances, Pollstar Box Office chart-topping tours with Def Leppard, Journey, Boston, REO Speedwagon, Bad Company (to name only a few), two more studio albums and no end in sight, STYX continues to conquer the planet, one venue at a time.Spawned from a suburban Chicago basement in the early ‘70s, Styx would eventually transform into the virtual arena rock prototype by the late '70s and early '80s, due to a fondness for big rockers and soaring power ballads.

Great song Virus! Renegade

I really enjoyed their mid-late 70's music even though I was under 10 at the time.

I think Styx was a band where many 80s rocker band took some of their appeal from.

Styx,

Their Grand Illusion were they "Foolin' theirselves" :wink2:

On a hot & humid day like today,

The long hot summer

seems relevant.

Don't you find it funny how most of the best ballads come from male bands of all genres.

Another of my favourite bands

Incorporated Punk, Rock, Ska, Reggae and Funk together.

They had numerous hits as a band (made up of true human misfits)

JMHO, probably one of the top 10 bands ever! Unique in many ways, yet not so terrible that youngn's couldn't listen.

THE CLASH!

Mick Jones & Joe Strummer

Great tune!

Joe Strummer went onto a great solo career with such hits as:

You can see how Mick Jones with B.A.D. sounds alittle like the Beastie Boys!

Then when bands would break up and form new ones during the 80s, we got the sounds of

The English Beat, The Specials becoming General Public and Fine Young Cannibals

which brought great music and good times to all.

The English Beat

became

General Public

I remember seeing them at Hamilton Place in the 80s (that's right Hamilton Place) a bunch of teens at the great hall.

Okay this is somewhat obscure!

&

Fuggin' hilarious!

In the late 70's and early 80's, a band called Shalamar, which Howard Hewitt was the star, but the little back up singer became the sultry sexpot of the 80s.

If you ever put a pair of roller-skates on during the 70's &80's, you heard Shalamar's "Make that Move".

Oh yeah, don't even lie, you all watched Dance Fever too!

The gorgeous back-up singer!

is

JODY WATLEY

SHE HELPED ME FIND THE RIGHT TO TOUCH MYSELF AS A TEEN:shout:

Oh yeah, how could you not want Jody Watley to sing this to you!

BTW,

I have a neighbour that resembles Jody Watley & Aliyah Naughton (Aliyah)

Okay, time to go beat the shit outta my dick.

:biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2:
