The Mexican government is investigating reports of the supposed kidnapping of 31 high school students in the southern state of Guerrero, Government Secretary Miguel Angel Osorio said.
"We are investigating. We have gone to the school itself. I hope to have more information soon and will share it," Osorio told a Mexican radio station on Wednesday in response to a question about a report broadcast by France 24 television.
Mexicans on Wednesday marked the two-month anniversary of the disappearance of a group of education students in the southern state of Guerrero.
On Sept. 26, 43 students were detained by police in Iguala, a city in Guerrero, and handed over to the Guerreros Unidos drug cartel, which allegedly killed and burned them to cover their tracks.
President Enrique Peña Nieto plans to plans to deliver an address to the nation on Thursday to announce new security and judicial measures to end the wave of protests over the disappearance of the 43 education students. EFE
