I was walking to my car today and a older lady asked me if I could help her.
Turns out her parking break was on and she couldn't release it.
I just gave it the old ''Fonzie'' tap and it released first time,lol......She was stunned.
A few weeks ago a neighbour of mine who had MS was coming back from a doctors appt but couldn't get out of his car.
His wife has had both knees replaced and could not support his weight.
I immediately saw his struggle and went over to assist him.
Another neighbour of mine who has since passed used to fall in his home quite a bit and his wife would phone 911 to get help getting him up.
I gave them my # and from then on out they would call me and I would go over and get him up. He was 6'5 and around 250 Lb's.
It wasn't easy but I got him up every time.
In all these cases I was helping someone out who was in dire straits. I never thought twice about it really.
Oh and my GP will not renew prescriptions over the phone or by fax either. And I am on a first name basis with him to boot.
Him and I exchange books and research studies quite a bit but this the new way I suppose.
My old GP was a king. I never saw more than 3 people in his waiting room at the same time and he would just sit and talk to me for sometimes 30 minutes each time I went in.
I miss the old days when our health care system was actually efficient.

people tend to blame the government for that but when society values sports players over doctors.....when they value rap stars over nurses.....or value musicians over interns, WE'RE the ones to blame.....
I forget the exact numbers but one of our glorious elected officials bitched in the paper about some doctor who made over $1,000,000.00 a year......ok, fine, but did that ass wipe say anything about the fucking hockey player who made $500,000.00 a game? Of course not.......

At 82 games that's $41 million, don't think so but hey you still made the point. I guess the difference might be that we (taxpayers) are paying the doctor not the sports figure. I have met few GP's worth a million but many surgeons who are.
I think you might be able to blame the goverment about having to go in for prescription renewal. I think the doctors get paid more for a visit than an on the phone renewal.
