Justin Trudeau cheekily invoked one of his late father’s most famous quips when asked by a fellow passenger about his chances of beating Prime Minister Stephen Harper in the next election.
"Justin, Can you really beat Harper? Wishing you all the best!" Halifax resident Michael Kydd scribbled out on a sheet of lined writing paper that he passed to Trudeau on a sparsely-filled Porter Airlines flight Tuesday night.
"Just watch me," the Liberal leadership front-runner responded in the signed note he handed

Trudeau’s response is, of course, a nod to the famous answer his father, Pierre Trudeau, gave in 1970 when asked by a reporter how far he was willing to go to stop militant Quebec separatists during the FLQ crisis.
"Just watch me," the elder Trudeau responded.
Kydd excitedly posted the note to Twitter Tuesday night. "Sent this note to @JustinTrudeau on a plane just now. Cool response!" he tweeted.
Trudeau himself later confirmed the note came from him.
"Yup, it was me," he wrote in response to requests from reporters for confirmation Wednesday morning. "Late night flight back on Porter from Halifax, escaping the storm."
Kydd said he now had "a great story" for his children.

It will definitely be an interesting Federal election when the time comes.

Maybe Harper and Justin can have a boxing match for the Prime Minister's office.

Just watch me . . .

We will watch.

Should he win, some will joyful applaud his success.

If not, others will gleefully hurl his words back at him.

I can't argue with this!

Trudeau lite, even his rival leaderships candidates can't figure out whether he actually has a platform..........................................well I hope the bearded one enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame. He can now concentrate on working hard to maintain 3rd place.

BTW Shouldn't this be in the political forum?

Justin won't reveal too much of his platform yet. That would be a stupid move on his part. Harper would start to pick it apart and adjust his policies to counteract any Liberal platform. We all know most voters are not fully educated on the policies and platforms and many vote on the candidate they like or can associate with. Justin's name, good looks and charisma maybe is all that is needed. Either way I agree it will make for an interesting election.

He's got a shitload more personality than Harper. But then again, that's like saying I've got bigger tits than a plank.

I like Justin and I think he'll be more liberal on us having fun!:wink2:

I also think Flaherty is a jack ass. I'm in the market for a bigger house and I was excited when I heard mortgage rates dropping.

'cause personality is the number one criteria for a country's leader

You would have thought that Trudeau, the original, would have shown the wisdom of that. The sequel is equal parts Pierre and crazy Margeret.

Don't fret. That was just Manulife making a splash. Similar rates can be had from other banks. I'm refinancing my house now and TD and RBC are both offering very competitive deals.
