Applause erupted Wednesday in a New Jersey courtroom after Clark Fredericks pleaded guilty to fatally stabbing the man he says molested him as a child, a man who was his Boy Scout leader and a family friend. CBS2's Dave Carlin reports.



Clark Fredericks, a 49-year-old New Jersey man, admitted in court that he got drunk and high on cocaine, forced his way into the home of 63-year-old Dennis Pegg — a retired law enforcement officer and well-liked member of the community — and brutally murdered the man in a horrifying and bloody frenzy. The whole time he was stabbing Dennis Pegg, Clark Fredericks said in court, “I said, ‘How does it feel raping little kids now? It’s not so fun raping little kids now, is it?”

Seriously!! I've been molested as a child and raped as a young woman and NEVER would I cheer for or want their murders! One crime does NOT justify another. The rapist deserves harsh punishment but not death, nor should anyone cheer for it, this says something very sad about our culture, I believe!!

First off Cristy, I don't wish to dismiss what has happened to you in the past, nor do I wish to dismiss your opinions. Nor do I condone what either man did, or the reaction of the audience.

One must remember Fredericks has been hauling this event with him for 37 some odd years. He grew up in a time where you just "dealt with it", in other words pretended it never happened, and you certainly didn't seek help dealing with it. Iffin' my math serves me right, this happened in the late 70s, if he had come out with this accusation then, he would have been the one labelled a queer and deviant.

His abuser was a police officer and a upstanding member of the community. To accuse Pegg of what he did back then, wouldn't have put Pegg under scrutiny, it would have ostracized Fredericks instead. "After all children are liars, and what not. He's probably some homo that got caught, while listening to Black Sabbath." As he said, who would have believed him?

That has been a wound that has been festering for 37 years. Unfortunately, it came to fruition.
