Mayor Ford Snubs gay pride once again

Love him or hate him he stands by his convictions. He once again is refusing to attend the gay pride event because of his family get together at the family cottage. He does not allow himself to be bullied by any lobby groups he doesn't agree with, which is nice to see. On a personal level I think he should attend because he claims to be everyone's mayor but that's only my opinion. I think this is a storm that's brewing and should make for some good reading.

I was listening to 640 Talk Radio on the drive home and the person (I can't remember his name) who is responsible for Pride Week was a guest. I was really impressed with him, totally took the high road, did not snub Ford at all. In his words, "Many politicians are invited every year. Some show up, some do not. Mayor Ford is welcome and we will welcome him as part of our celebration of diversity". I truly hope the acts from last year are forgotten". Or something very close to that. A cool, reasonable dude for sure.

I think I'll attend this year and build a float.
I'll hang a giant banner on it that says "I LIKE TO FUCK WHORES!" and get 60 or 70 chicks from the DWNR to ride it and the center piece will be a giant mechanical man banging a woman.

You're also probably not supposed to be the foremost ambassador of Toronto. It's called TOFTT, and while not a formal job requirement it's kind of expected especially given the physical and economic size of pride week.

It is expected but Ford and his handlers are to thick headed to realize it. The gay pride is a 10 day event and as long as numb skull shows up one day it will all be forgotten.

The simple answer is because they don't believe him. He's always preached against the lifestyle in his days on counsel and he stands by his convictions. I say good on him, he should be bullied into anything he feels uncomfortable with. He was squirming like crazy when the ladies in lettuce bikinis invaded his weigh in. If I were him I would have ate the lettuce off their bodies!:biggrin:
