Very sad. Texting is the cause. And Texas doesn't have a State law against it.
and 65 mph speed limit on a two way two lane road.
I spent some time working in Texas.
In the early 2000's, Texas had a proposal to reduce speed limits, it sited a number of high speed deaths, including school children. We The People voted against reducing speed limits.

You also voted against the texting and driving law proposal?.

Haven't been to Texas in years
They probably will make a law, they're just real slow about it :(

What is it that they, YOU do not get?. I have lost a couple of friends because they don't think it's a big deal to text and drive. I don't return their calls and rather be a bad guy that a good DEAD guy. My own Aunt keeps on doing it and I refuse to go to any gathering that she attends.

My Sales VP (who lives in Dallas) was floored when I told him that we face heavy fines for talking on the phone and or texting while driving.

I drove 8 hours on the 401 yesterday and in many of the cars the driver was on their phone, only paying a fraction of attention to the road. Problem is, they don't realize the dangers until too late, and I have to admit I've done the same thing a few times when I was in a rush to drive and get out a message. We need voice to text that works!

You still don't get it?. Taking your eyes off the road for 1 second is dangerous enough. Texting a message is like an eternity while you are driving and will one day cause a death you will have to live the rest of your life with.

I hate texting

SP's keep texting me, after I have confirmed and told her I'm 'On My Way'
I don't text and drive, so it's really painful when they keep texting and I gotta pull over to answer.
I have a confirmed 10:30 appt and they ask "what time will you be here" or are you close" or can you pick up Timmy's
They don't understand that I can't answer while driving.
I guess I should tell them that I won't answer texts while I'm driving instead of saying On My Way

I drive to pick up my child at 3:30 PM and cannot comprehend why the soccer moms keep texting while their child is sitting next to them. Then you wonder why the new generation do not think it's such a big deal.
