Pitching a Tent - Help me!

K. find something that goes up and down easy.....think about rain...someone suggested
5 person....which is a good idea.....If you are hiking trails etc...you want it light weight...
and easy to put together........Mountain Co op is great....It is not fun hiking for hours
and then having to set up a tent....One thing....practice setting it up before hand....

I can pick up your tent and put it on my 4 X 4. Dump the dude, I'll buy the beer.

Do need your address though.

I enjoyed reading this thread, thank you Kyra. I've always wanted to try camping but always hesitated. I don't like bugs not too mention terrified of bears. Much like Jesus I consider a shabby motel roughing it"LOL." Still it's something I haven't tried just like sky diving, scares the bejesus out of me but deep down I'm dying to try it.

The last time I went camping it was in a 3 star hotel. That is what I consider "Roughing it".

I'm with JQ on this one...if I sleep on the ground in the woods, it's because I'm lost. Funky & Music

Let that be a warning if you come looking for your boots!!

I think Kyra you need to test the tent with a fluffer prior to going out in the woods. We could camp out in my backyard for one night and I could show you how quick it goes up.

Sure, I admit it. Remember that famous old saying "what comes up, must come down".

Thank you to everyone for the information , there are a few things I hadn't thought about (like the ventilation) that will matter when I actually get out there in the woods. I think I'm going to stick to a 3 person size, it's only two of us and I don't want to carry something too heavy around. I will need to portage a fair bit during the days and adding the extra weight of a large tent just to have a little extra space... well that isn't something I want to do.
I'm with those of you that don't "rough it", I love the outdoors but typically from a comfortable cottage - still this opportunity came up and I am always up for an adventure.

Oh and Beer, I'm not ditching my suitor but you are welcome to the same deal he has and in fact I'll buy the beer for the weekend as long as you carry it.

Oh and Hof what's up with the really old photos of me, we've never met and yet you hold onto my images for several years... scary! :SayWhat?:

Just teasing, if the criteria for obsessive stalker was someone I've never met that has my images on their hard drive... well... I think I'd be afraid of a lot of you.

I have very naughty images of you in my mind.......:don'twantto-see:/

Do any of you have any experience with the tent Canadian Tire has been advertising lately that claims to go up in 60 seconds? I think I may try to put it up at the store :)

Recently went into the SAILS outdoor superstore nearby. They had like 50 tents out on display...now that's the way to sell a tent. Unfortunately it was the only impressive part of the store...left empty-handed.

Too Easy Bliss!!!!

I know at least 375 women that go up and down real easy after dinner, movie, drinks or flat out for cash money!
