This is the terrifying moment a woman was attacked by a polar bear after jumping into its zoo enclosure.
The 32-year-old leapt over bars at Berlin Zoo during the bears' feeding time yesterday.

Despite six zookeepers' efforts to distract the four predators kept in the enclosure, the woman was bitten several times on her arms and legs.

Still under attack, the woman swims for and then finally grabs a rope hanging down by rescuers

sorry, this will sound callous but, they should have left her in there.....now they're rescued her she'll have a chance to breed a whole bunch of idiots....sorry, but she doesn't deserve to live, consume resources, and use healthcare funds after doing something so utterly stupid........

Old story but after the Knut stories maybe they think that Polar Bears are friendly?

LMAO you are cruel but a logical point.

OMG...I am surprised the bear didnt finish eating her. Perhaps she tasted too bland. Bad joke? :sorry2:

Looks too me that these bears are just getting a little complacent being a zoo.

If they were on their game I imagine she would have been a quick dinner.

And as for the woman, well she should be held for a psych evaluation.

see, this is one of those situations where I strongly feel that the woman should be held financially responsible for the medical costs......It's not like she fell in by accident, or she was walking along a country road and got attacked by a bear, she fricken JUMPED in.....

Maybe she was whacked out on coke!

Maybe she was whacked out on coke!

It's very true she has brought all this upon herself. It makes me wonder what is going through the mind of an individual who decides to pull off stupid stunts like this? What does he or she think they are accomplishing??

Now, ahem, this is where I come from ok? (probably shouldn't tell you guys this but....)

When I was 16 we used to have a trailer in a campground up around pe****orough....we got to know all the farm girls (yes) and there was one who was big in the community and they had obtained a lioness and a cheetah for a parade/event. They had them in cages in their driving shed. We found out about it and when up to check them out.

We were told to stay away from the cheetah cuz it was ornery but the lioness was pretty tame. Now they were in chain link pens and we were told it was ok to pet it through the cage. So we did. Gave it scratches etc and there was a rag it liked to play tug of war with.

We were there for about an hour and then left.

We told my mother about it later that day and she wanted to go see them. So we called, were told it was ok, and up we went.

Now my whole family are animal lovers (shut up you pervs) so of course my mother was excited. We got up there, showed her how to touch it safe, and it was rubbing against the fence in all it's glory getting so much attention. My mother says "it's just like a kitten" OOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW well the fucking idiot was PETTING IT ON THE SNOT and it flipped it's head and bit down on her hand..........when she started pulling, it thought "hey I know this game" and pulled back...well it bit off the end of her finger.......took months and months of surgery etc to get it so she could type again (she was a secretary).

I told you this because a) some women are just stupid and b) some people don't realize that what we see others do with these animals doesn't mean they are tame and safe.....

We all said to her "what the fuck do you think you were doing"? I mean, we were crazy kids but we knew it probably wasn't a good idea to go anywhere NEAR the dangerous end of the lion....I mean REALLY? how dumb do you have to be? (obviously she was).

Now I relate this because I could see this wingnut (the one in the op's story) seeing those coke commercials, probably seen handlers with polar bears etc, and thought they are so cute and cuddly........

We always talk about the dumbing down of society and this story is a perfect example of this........

funny you bring that up.....there was a csi episode about how there are groups of people who dress up in furry animal costumes and then go out and fuck.....when I first saw it I thought, that's weird but then, hmmmmm that'd be kind of fun to fuck a hottie dressed as a furry teddy bear lol......

I would like to see anyone doing anything this stupid charged and responsible to pay off their entire medical bills over time. Wild animals cannot be tamed regardless of how much training is administered. I sometimes think some people cannot be trained regardless of how much help is offered!
