Just giving back a lil of what we US Americans have to put up with.
But your argument has a big hole in it. Recreational drugs are illegal privately or otherwise in the US (Not marijuana obviously)......yet they are available like crazy. Why would similar laws for guns "make the problem worse"? Our thinking here is that everyone has a right to defend themselves from anyone trying to take away their basic rights. If someone tries to steal your property, take away your liberty, or take away your life, you should have the means to fight back. It's not gun crazy.....we just believe that we have that right as individuals and don't think that we can count on any government to do it for us. Does it make guns more available for criminals...maybe. But criminals also have to consider that anyone they consider a victim might be armed to fight back if they make a move on them. I'm sure that deters some potential criminals and there are stories out there of people defending their lives successfully....though you have to dig past the main stream media to find them sometimes.
But you do what you do in your country. I don't judge which way you go. We just get tired of hearing about how we are all nuts and wrong and crazy for doing things our way in our country.
You don't have to put up with anything, its your country, nothing wrong with stating your point of view on guns, as there is nothing wrong with anybody else stating theirs.
I did NOT make any judgment on your country, or state that y'all are crazy, but the numbers I provided to back up a stance on the subject, do not lie, there is no hole in the statistics I posted.
As far as drugs,...the people who are actually involved in treating drug addiction and research in Canada, have stated that the increased availability of the drug marijuana in Canada, WILL increase addiction, but we will have to wait and see how that evolves.
