Sadly enough he died two years ago today (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009).

My brother was the first to introduce me to his amazing 'Off the Wall' album. Even as a little kid I was blown away by "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" and "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" (and oh how I still am to this day). Years later my brother returned from college with 'Thriller' for me to enjoy. By then we had a fancy thing called a cassette player and tiny headphones to really jam out and not just a record player, heh.

Ahhhh, I could ramble on and on about my fondness for such an American icon in this opening post...

Yes go ahead and make fun of his likes for you know what, but has never been proved.

He had big time talent but something to do with his friendship to the young ones had and has me wondering.

I remember his "Off The Wall" singles getting played in a lot of stripper routines over 30 years ago.

His thriller video has to be one of the best ever. Here is a clip of some stupid guy that got married, bless his soul.

I'm divided on Mr.Jackson.

On the one hand he was immensely talented and had one helluva difficult childhood with a nut case for a father.

But on the other are all the pedo accusations with an admission that he would encourage sleep overs with children. Now either he was not having sex with them and had a child like mind as has been reported and was not sexual as a human being. Or he was manipulating these children and their parents into having sex.

My experience tells me that where there is smoke there is fire. Hopefully someday the confidentiality agreements that were signed along with cash settlements to the families will be broken and their stories can come out. Still though he won't be around to defend himself.

His cash settlements speak volumes.

Hell he even bought children to call his own

When you have as much coin as he had sometimes it's better just to pay people off and have them go away. It's possible he or his advisers saw that as the easiest course of action. For him and his fear of publicity a public trial might have been to traumatic for him to bear. Even though innocent he would rather just pay the bill.

Once maybe but several times seems a little like an admission of guilt.

Unlike OJ Simpson . The whole world knew he was guilty but his money got him out. I am with Papasmerf on this one but do have a small% of doubt as the real truth never came out.

Therefore I am also with Maurice's way of thinking. Bottom like, Michael was fucked up but very talented.

As I understand it, Jack the Ripper was also a talented surgeon.

Still does not excuse his actions

Agreed it's that or there are a lot of vultures looking for their pound of flesh, and I don't discount that.

It's that small % that has me divided.

..regarding these cash settlements, I wouldnt accept them if i were a parent because pedophilles need to be locked up...Not faair for these victims to suffer for the rest of their lives...

myself I would have a trophy mounted for others to remember that it is not a good idea to hurt my child

Defending a pedophile who paid cash for his children is not exactly what I expected.

In the summer of 1993, Jackson was accused of child sexual abuse by a 13-year-old boy named Jordan Chandler and his father, Dr. Evan Chandler, a dentist.[113][114][115] The Chandler family demanded payment from Jackson, and the singer initially refused. Jordan Chandler eventually told the police that Jackson had sexually abused him.[116] Dr. Chandler was tape-recorded discussing his intention to pursue charges, saying, "If I go through with this, I win big-time. There's no way I lose. I will get everything I want and they will be destroyed forever ... Michael's career will be over". Jordan's mother was, however, adamant that there had been no wrongdoing on Jackson's part.[115] Jackson later used the recording to argue that he was the victim of a jealous father whose only goal was to extort money from the singer.[115]
Later that year, on December 20, Jackson's home was raided by the police, and Jackson submitted to a 25-minute strip search.[117] Jordan Chandler had reportedly given police a description of Jackson's intimate parts, notably claiming that his bleach-damaged penis was circumcised; the strip search revealed, to the contrary, that Jackson was actually uncircumcised,[118] a fact confirmed in his autopsy.[119] His friends said he never recovered from the humiliation of the strip search. The investigation was inconclusive and no charges were ever filed.[120][121] Jackson described the search in an emotional public statement, and proclaimed his innocence.[113][117][122] On January 1, 1994, Jackson's insurance carrier settled with the Chandlers out of court for $22 million. A Santa Barbara County grand jury and a Los Angeles County grand jury disbanded on May 2, 1994 without indicting Jackson.[123] After which time the Chandlers stopped co-operating with the criminal investigation around July 6, 1994.[124][125][126] The out-of-court settlement's documentation specifically stated Jackson admitted no wrongdoing and no liability; the Chandlers and their family lawyer Larry Feldman signed it without contest.[127] The Chandlers' lawyer Mr. Feldman also explicitly stated "nobody bought anybody's silence".[128] A decade after the fact, during the second round of child abuse allegations, Jackson's lawyers would file a memo stating that the 1994 settlement was done without his consent.[125]

There it is. To all the vigilante's out there. I would say if you are going to kill somebody over a perceived wrong there should be no question of their guilt. In Jackson's case there is plenty of reasonable doubt.

didnt he admit to sleeping with different children in his own bedroom in the court of law....Geeez
