You all seem to forget. Mistake or not, shit happens for a reason. Deal with it and don't be a pussy "oh just an accident". You played, you lost now time to deal with what the cards given you. You all are just going in circles.

It's done, fuck the drama.

Try saying the same thing to the female pro-abortionists, except switch the genders around. You'll get replies like "I'm not ready for a child/I don't want a child/I can't support the child, so I have the right to abort it." Would you then go tell them the same thing that they should "deal with it"? Look, the whole issue isn't whether or not one should deal with it, it's the patent double standard where women have complete control over the baby but men have no control at all even though the man made just as much of a mistake as the woman.

And for an FYI: I'm pro-abortionist, but unlike the others I believe that both men and women should have the right as opposed to women only.

That's just it: you DON'T get to play the cards you're dealt. It's like playing poker against someone who has the option of chosing which cards are dealt to whom......see, when a woman becomes pregnant, and you're the father, you haven't automatically "lost", it is entirely up to the woman to decide FOR you whether you lost or not. What I'm discussing is that this is wrong on so many levels.

That's where you're wrong, or not entirely accurate. As a man, you can't "deal with it", you have to wait until the woman decides HOW you're going to deal with it....or whether you have to deal with it at all.

As has been said: it takes TWO to make the baby, it should take two to decide what to do about it......

As it stands right now it is a no win situation for the man. I won't argue further about 'a person has no right over another persons body', it is a no win debate.

However... If we want to move on to something that is fair to all parties involved...

Should a woman accidentally become pregnant, something like this SHOULD occur...

They both appear in court very early in the pregnancy, while there is still time to abort if necessary. Both tell their side to a judge, and if it was truly an accident, the man signs papers that he is not willing to pay support, and that he has no rights to ever see the child. It is then up to the woman whether she keeps the child as a single, support-less parent, or whether she terminates the pregnancy.

^^Agreed, but be careful though. The man will, for the rest of his life, been seen by peers as a selfish asshole. And yet it's still okay for a woman to abort the child without being seen as one.

And I just would like to clarify again that I'm only talking about a situation where a man ACCIDENTALLY impregnated a woman like when a condom broke. Obviously I can see something like this very easy to abuse: the man impregnates multiple women, gets them all pregnant, then asks for them all to be aborted. Obviously that's wrong.

exactly. The thing is, it could be easily set up in a lower court using a justice of the peace. Also agreed with Gom whereby the "accident" is really an accident. If they weren't using ANY form of birthcontrol then that's a whole nother ballgame.......

In my situation, she was on the pill and we were using condoms. Because a) we weren't really together at the time, b) she had seen someone else after we split up and c) she was on antibiotics for a bladder infection and those tend to negate the effects of the pill......
