So, this all started back in December. I have spent some time trying to resolve the issue, and deciding whether to post publicly about it, so I'm not posting this on a whim. Also, I'm including the thoughts I had along the way, about why she acted this way, but of course I don't read minds. The events are factually correct, what was going through my head about what was going through her head is just speculation.

Back in December, Valerie was offering a modest discount if you made a deposit of half the fee for her time. I was soon to visit Toronto, so I was interested. I've been burned once before when providing a deposit (I should have known better that time) but I've had no troubles otherwise, and reading through Valerie's reviews she seemed trustworthy. So, I took her up on the offer.

Sent the deposit, got confirmation, and we arranged more details about the meeting. Because it was more convenient for me, I decided to send the remaining amount (we had shortened the duration of my visit, by agreement, so it was less than the initial amount) and she confirmed receipt, and continued communicating. I was a little apprehensive to do this, but it wasn't at her request, and the fact that she continued communicating put me at ease.

Day of the meeting, she cancels, citing a big emergency, and giving some rescheduling options for later in the week. I informed her that I'll have left Toronto by then, so could not reschedule, and just asked for the payment returned.

That was the last I heard from her for a while. I sent 3 other emails (the last from a different address in case she'd blocked me) asking for updates, but avoiding being accusatory. No response. So, I was left wondering whether she'd intentionally defrauded me, or might believe that the deposit is hers regardless of who cancels and was offended by my request for a refund.

A couple months later, prior to returning to Toronto, I saw that she was advertising again, and that she'd be available when I visited. So, I sent another email. Again no response. Asked a few SPs I know for advice (some of which conflicted) but ended up sending a booking request under a different name to get her attention. After she responded to me, saying the reference I'd listed hadn't responded to her, I resent the last email. I realize I could have achieved most of the same effect by just stuffing the email into the request forum, but at this point I was leaning towards assuming bad faith on her part, and this act did confirm that she was responding to emails, and was available when I wanted to meet. Note, I had no intention of actually meeting her under false pretenses, and I never insisted we meet, always offering a refund as another option. Not sure whether sending the fake request was the right thing to do anyway, but it's what I did, so be it.

And it worked! She responded this time, telling me she'd actually responded to my last email, and provided an understandable explanation, and she'd be happy to meet when I visit. Then, a second email saying she found her previous response in her drafts folder. So, I was happy with that, and was understanding in my responses. She said she was available on the day I wanted (though we didn't work out time yet) and asked whether it was the same deal, a slightly longer visit for which I'd already paid for half her time with a deposit. I reminded her that we'd shortened the meeting slightly (by half an hour) and that I'd already paid in full.

Again, no response. I sent a few more emails, no response. An SP I'm friends with contacted her on my behalf, asking her to contact me, and nothing. The day we were supposed to meet comes and goes. I leave Toronto. That's where we are now.

So, again I can only speculate what happened. I am certain she went on arranging other bookings, so not emergency related. But, did she decide she doesn't care about making things right, after finding out she wasn't getting any more payment (because I'd already provided the agreed amount) and she thought I was blowing hot air about making this thing public? Or did something in my email trigger a negative emotional response? I've been assured by SPs I know that no reputable lady would risk her reputation over such a small amount, so, maybe that's the case. Either way, I don't feel great about writing this post.

But, regardless of the reason, my position is the same: I provided a payment for her time, and neither her time nor a refund was ever provided. I do still have a vague hope writing this post will spur her into (positive) action, and we finally reach a resolution, but I've already spent way too much time thinking about it or trying to resolve it, and had my own anxiety about it. So, even if the reason was wasn't ill will, and no fraud was intended, it was at least unreliable and inconsiderate.

Feel bad about John's experience, that sucks. It does surprise me though, having met Val a few times. She's pretty down to earth, unpretentious, a very bright intellectual, and never showed any signs of playing games on the business side during my interactions with her.

I don't think she planned on stealing the guys money but once in hand, she didn't want to let it go for whatever reason. Bottomline, it is theft. She needs to return the guys money.

Fred admitted in another thread that there is no time nor patience for monitoring threads today. I get the point. A race bait thread in the lounge was closed quick too. Maybe it will be re-opened. I have seen that before too.

Personally, I like that I got the last word. Although I think Fred knows that once I get in there, the thread is usually going to go to shit :LMAO:O

So Just to update here, apparently the money has finally been returned. It is said that miscommunication is the reason for the money not being returned right away.

The OP is happy to have gotten his money back.

Personally, I don't know what to believe, from December to May, seems like a long time of ignoring the man and other escorts who contacted on his behalf. I think public pressure played a role but he did get his money back so hense the thread was closed.

Felt it only fair fair to share here that the money was returned since the OP was copied here.
