So Just to update here, apparently the money has finally been returned. It is said that miscommunication is the reason for the money not being returned right away.

The OP is happy to have gotten his money back.

Personally, I don't know what to believe, from December to May, seems like a long time of ignoring the man and other escorts who contacted on his behalf. I think public pressure played a role but he did get his money back so hense the thread was closed.

IMHO, Val didn't get away with anything. She was getting pressured, to give the guy his money back. IMHO, she made all Indy SP's who demand deposits before booking, look bad.

The OP isn't who had the issue with her, Fuj merely brought what was posted on the Red Board to everyone's attention here as well. However, I see your point. Many are quick to stir the pot (-) but slow or hesitant to smooth things over (+). Much like the client whose fingers work perfectly well when they want or need something but mysteriously become paralyzed when that's no longer the case.

Excellent post Sophia. However, I personally have to dwell. No way in a million yrs, would I ever send an Indy SP a deposit, after that Val fiasco. What made it even worse, was when her Indy buddy, "the chick with the tiny waist", came to Val's defence....LMAO

Really, even to me, who many moons ago during my brief stint downtown took you to your first HUBGFE soiree and spent oodles of time with you that day just hanging out at no charge in an effort to help you get acquainted with other like minded HUBGFE hobbyists? That was done out of the goodness of my heart and for no other reason.

It's for the above mentioned reasons that I now ask for references, etc. so I understand your point of view, but as I stated, these things have happened to me a multitude of times before I finally said ENOUGH! Often, board members read about one isolated incident that happened to someone else and immediately jump on the bandwagon.

I'm truly understanding now why so many providers are turning to Twitter. It's the pervasive negativity on all the boards that is driving us in that direction.

IMHO, twitter is making the hobby even tougher for guys with modest means. A lot of Sp's show all the gifts and all the vacations they take on twitter. Also, some SP's have become such twitter celebrities, that you literally have to book them 5 yrs in advance, to get an appt---LOL That is, if you pass their screening of a million references, and your linked in ID etc

I agree with Sophia, this indicates caution is needed when dealing with Val. Lumping all independents together is unnecessary and unfair. Ensuring clients have an avenue to correct situations like this is the only valid reason I see for review boards outside of places like the Lounge where it's a community...

And for the guys that give gifts, don't you think they like receiving some reckongition for that? They do go the extra mile so the SP acknowledges.

Well of course. What possible reason would a service provider have for a forum that enables a community of consumers who will invariably scrutinize the quality and consistency their services, while demanding value for money? The unfortunate part is that the lack of integrity and honesty on the part of the consumers by far exceeds that of the providers.

Winslow - you simply need to hobby within your means, dude. If you can't afford her, you can't afford her. You need to accept that and not project your personal limitations on her, and you can't blame her (or twitter) for her success. If she provides an exceptional, consistently value-added, and exceedingly satisfying experience, she deserves every penny that comes her way. Being an escort for a living ain't a walk in the park, no matter what public image they project. Those that do it and do it well earn their success one session at a time, and it never gets easier, only harder as time goes by - don't kid yourself.

Where screening is concerned, also easy. If you can't abide, just step aside. Many others can and will.
