I have 3 busted ribs, both knees are shot.

I need to quit smoking and have been an asthmatic for 52 years,

I hold a Black Belt and have not practiced for 20 odd years.

Good to hear, Papa. The question I would ask is "where do you want to start?"

I'ld see my doctor asap, as he'll more than happy to help you with the smoking, and to get your asthma under control.

I don't know how had your knees are, but CG's knees are bad too IIRC and he rides. Walking and swimming were my two poisons of choice.

Drinking occasionally shouldn't be a problem IMO

As for the black belt, put it back on before your pants fall off.

A couple of interesting motivational reads are Body For Life and Body By Design.

actually i want to get my Bp back to a manageable number, my weight is not al that off

I need to loose 2o pounds to get back to my fighting weight.

i CAN DO THAT IN 4 WEEKS

Well see you didn't state you were wishing to address your blood pressure. That's another story, which I've not really had to deal with. I did have a slightly elevated blood pressure, but it came down as my weight did.

As for dropping 20lbs in four weeks. You can do it, but can you maintain it? And besides 20lbs, what else do you lose?

Probably too late to quit smoking, it's bizarre that someone with asthma would start. :???:

Good idea to pick out a burial plot, hope you prove me wrong.

.
It is never too late. I've witnesses many people quit after 50 and 60 years. I'm a big believer in that if you want something bad enough and are willing to do what it takes then any problem can be solved.
Good idea to pick out a burial plot, hope you prove me wrong.

That's a helluva thing to tell someone.

Good on ya Pappy!

Question though... 20 lbs in 4 weeks is kinda fast. (Unless one is vastly overweight which I don't think is the case.) I was always of the belief that 2-3 lbs/ week is healthy.

Having sex 3 times a week should do it.

That's it? Just 3 times a week? :gasp:

(Not counting the recuperation time after each one of our "offspring units" were born, last time I averaged only 3 times a week was when I was I was 18!)

Doesn't mean its healthy... in fact, everything I've read about it, (basically its a form of hyper-dehydration), says its extremely dangerous.
