Hello folks want to upgrade to a smart phone, prefer an Android phone. The questions I have are:

1) How is the web browser on these Android phones (like LG Optimus 7, HTC, Samsung)?

2) Can I browse HUBGFE.com or the (Red Board) using these type of phones?

3) How is the browsing for the GOE and Mirage websites on these phones? As I am always checking those sites for scheduling and updates?

OR

Is the new blackberry best for web browsing because it uses flash? But then again not too many of these sites use flash.

Advice and help would greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't mind knowing as well. My 3 year plan is almost due.

IF you are part of the apple ecosystem (photos, music, tv shows, podcasts, movies) then get the iPhone.

The advantage of apple system is that your photos, music, etc. is synced along all your devices.

If you are not part of the apple ecosystem and don't see a benefit of it, then any of the smart phones out there will do. My preferences are between the iphone and the Samsung.

I have iPhones (4s and 5), Samsung Galaxy S3, and Blackberry B10....all surf porn...er....Web....just fine and all do mail, music, etc. Pick one. Interchangeable for the most part, but staying wiht noe platform (iOS, Android, BB) has its advantages in apps and so on. Personally, I carry the iPhone and iPad more than the others, but five years ago it was the Blackberry instead. Flip a three-headed coin.

I have an Android and wish I had waited to see what the new Blackberry is like. I miss not being able to type on keys, I hate screen typing.

Little Stick gives good advice. Choosing a platform is more than just hardware. Your investment in content will far outweigh the cost of handset or tablet. I like that my phone, tablet and home computer (and ATV) are are synced. Apple does a better job making everything seamless than does BB or Android.

But, I'm ever mindful of the fact that I'm "locked" into the Apple ecosystem. I wouldn't mind so much but, as things go, it looks like Apple is getting staid. Samsung is becoming ever more creative and innovative. I'd say, if you aren't locked into any system now, seriously consider getting Galaxy phone/tab.

p.s. I had the chance to play with the Z10 for an hour. I liked it. The touchscreen typing was better than I expected (and waaaaay better than BB7 models). It didn't make me want to switch back (or get another handset). The Playbook still sucks balls. But, it is a good product. The build quality is superb as well, reminiscent of the old RIM days.

I am more than a little happy that I never drank the apple juice.

I purchased an IPAD3 and to my dismay, apple is like a control freak mother.

You can only get what apple deems to be good for you.

Glad I still have an Android and wish I would have purchased the Galaxy instead of sour apple.

My dad just switched to an android tablet from ipad and loves it. But he's a tech geek.

It depends on how much of a DIY guy you are. If you prefer to get things done, you go with Apple, and sacrifice the versatility and customization of Android.

FYI: the new BB does not have a physical keyboard, they won't release one till later this year...dumb move, IMO.

If you do decide to go with Android, go with Samsung. LG's break when you look at them funny, and HTC's are hit and miss.

You forgot to include Windows in your selection. MS is doing some serious work in terms of interoperability and usability, basically out-Appling Apple, but with added bonuses:
1) Smartphone, PC, Tablet, Console, which Apple has not.
2) Apps like video-conferencing operrate cross-platform: If I have a windows phone, and you have android, we can still video chat....not like facetime.

My next phone is either the Samsung G3 or G4. I'm getting my GF a Nokia Lumia 920 or a Samsung Ativ.

Can one face time with a Galaxy 3?

Yes, but it's not called Facetime, because that's an Apple thing. The rest of the world calls it video-conferencing. And no, you can't do Apple/Other OS video-conf unless you jailbreak your iPhone and install Skype or some other 3rd party app.

Dreamblade is it true you cannot view your home cameras from the new 10 BB. I read it in one thread here and none replied.

I would stay clear away from anything Blackberry related now. They are laying off 4500 people. The new Iphone doesn't have many new features and best to keep the old one till next year.

In that subject.

PS. Transient can you make the picture below bigger?.
