Made with Love

Why is saying cunt such a taboo word?.

As I can remember a 2000 BBC study of the most offensive words, it ranked No. 1, ahead of motherfucker, fuck, and even nigger.

Language is dynamic and ever changing. Words come into and out of favor constantly.

Don't be a dinosaur, try to keep up. Does it really matter why or who?

I remember when bastard was a biggie many years ago, now it seems tame.

Who made the call to have it as such a taboo word :fool:

It's all about context, Candyman. Just like fuck. Sometimes it can be the ugliest context, and sometimes it can be the most loving context. Ladies who know me know that when we're naked in bed and I'm saying "That's an awesome blowjob, but is that (insert your own descriptive noun here, just don't use the phrase 'pathetic little thing') ready to fuck," they never seem to get offended.

Likewise, when they're masturbating against my tongue and in a moment of free breath I exclaim "I love your gorgeous cunt," they don't seem to get offended.

But, hey, I'm not surprised that a lady would get offended if you hurl a nasty comment at her, including calling her a cunt.

If so, speaks volumes about your character, and your attitude toward women. If so, I am sorry for you and your neanderthal outlook on life.

This subject came up before, last winter if I remember, and we had lengthy discussion on the topic. Kudos to Ms FemmeFatale for raising the issue and making everybody think about it. First, "cunt" was censored, then it was repatriated. Which was the right thing to do.

Here's the thread started by Ms FF:

Again, I applaud her for taking a stand on an issue of mysogny.

Here was my response at the time, in a different thread, but feel free to go back and read the whole thread. Lots of interesting viewpoints there.

My only regret is that tboy bailed out.

I really enjoyed his contributions. Didn't always agree, but he always brought a spark to the conversations.

Childish behavior on too many. BTW it was made insulting by a feminist Funky & Music
