Why they call them curvy instead of fat, overweight and she doesn't take care of herself?

I am fat by choice so what is the big deal.

Truth is, the majority of fat people are fat 'by choice', they just can't/won't admit it to themselves. It really is about making the right choices! (With the exception of course of those with a known medical condition outside of their control.)

Being obese is becoming an epidemic in old USA. 30 % of them are fat, period, will say no more.

If they can't help themselves then no one can.

Having been involved in the fitness and weight loss business for over 30 years I can without a shadow of a doubt tell you gents that I have never seen a fat/ obese person that didn't have deep routed childhood issues.

Some of the people I have talked to refused to admit this to me at first but after a little gentle prodding their stories are quite riveting in their own way. Since a lot of these abuses happened when they were babies or a little older the kicker is that they sometimes don't even realize what was done to them. Of course in some instances they blame themselves.

Most are using the neurotransmitter dopamine ( yes the same substance cocaine boosts so much) to achieve that euphoric high. They seek out this high to escape the pain that they feel in everyday life. Thus they are food addicts. The food industry laces it's products sugar(which increases dopamine production) so the user achieves that high and keeps coming back for more. But all is well because they tell us that there is very little fat in their products. What they don't tell us that they have replaced that fat(which we now know isn't evil at all) with sugar and excess carbs. Which raises insulin levels through the roof and signals the body to start storing body fat. After years of this the body becomes insulin resistant and you now have to deal with adult onset diabetes. And the cycle continues . Then before you know it your body starts breaking down and the medical visits start piling up.

Listen there used to be a time when I would look down upon fat/obese people as persons who Jesse Ventura once said had ''fork in mouth disease''. But the reality is that mostly through no fault of their own have their brains hard wired to be food addicts. So Louis I would offer to you that they are not making a conscious choice when it comes to over eating. Only going through extensive counselling can they be helped.

One has to wonder how much of this you must be thin and men must have 6 packs is driven by marketing.

These days we see models at 5 foot 10 and 115 pounds and she is slightly over weight..............The reality is she is 45 pounds or so under weight.

150 years ago or so Art was the definition of perfection and a lady at 5 foot and 155 pounds was considered perfection.
Please note I said 150 and not 250.

Now with that said I believe we are today at the bullshit end of what is healthy...........If you need to be within 5% of emaciated weight you are not healthy.

However if you carry the weight of another adult on your hips you too are not healthy.

I prefer a woman with a womanly figure with real breasts and luscious lips.

I personally have a preferred weight range, and it's pretty flexible. For example, an average 5'4" woman can have a weight range between 100-130 lbs in my range. Below 100 they are too thin, and above 130 they are too thick. Many guys would not agree with my range. The ones who prefer thin women might have no more than a 10 lb range for their preference, like between 90-100 lbs. While the ones who like thick women might like them to be above 130 lbs.

130 on my frame would look sickly (and I am only 5'4.5). Even at 175lbs I was a size 10 and looked GND average. Numbers are sometimes deceiving.

One of my friends is a rare exception to this rule, Maurice Boscorelli, and he could rightfully claim that he is obese, through no fault of his own.

When he was about two years old, he was injected with the vaccination for Whooping Cough. What the doctor didn't know is that he had been been exposed to whooping cough, but was not yet showing symptoms. The vaccination amplified the effects of the disease, and permanently damaged his lungs. He has to take steroid-based medications for his lungs, which have the side effect of extreme water retention, and the lung damage prevents him from doing any strenuous cardiovascular training.

He looks kind of like a bowling ball, but he accepts his fate. In his case, there is literally nothing he can do about it. He loves sports, but cannot participate, so he reads about them, and watches games.

In your personal training business, what distinguishes your clients from some of the people I see in Cabbagetown buying their groceries from a sidewalk scooter is that some people want to do something about their physical condition, and other don't. Doing something about it is difficult. Quitting on oneself is very easy to do, it fact, it takes zero effort.

As a sports fan, you know that, in certain circumstances, humiliation can be a strong motivating factor, to someone who has some self respect, but not enough. The football coach does it. The army drill sergeant does it. The high school gym teacher does it. Parents often do it, but they shouldn't. The coach, sergeant, and gym teacher want you to hate them, until they have succeeded at their tasks. If their 'victims' knew what those guys were doing at the time it was being done, many would resist, out of principle, but when the desired result is reached, in hindsight, they realize that the end justified the means.

Political correctness says that these methods should not be used, because they harm the artificial self esteem of people who chose to quit on themselves.

People tend to use two adjectives to define physical conditioning, 'fit' and 'fat'. This is unfair, because there is a relatively large group that can accurately be described as neither. They are not 'trim', and they are not obese. They carry more body weight that they reasonably require, and this hinders them in exercise, but does not prevent them from doing it, when they are self motivated.

Many people in this group are comfortable with their body shape. They could improve upon it, but that's not a high enough priority to them. At any given time, one or more of them becomes a new client to you.

This middle group usually has much more in common with the fit group, than with the obese group; they have some self motivation, but need more, but if they have no self motivation, no amount of additional assistance will have any lasting effect. They may lose some weight, for a while, but it will inevitably come back, because they don't care enough to make it stay gone.

Some individuals within this mid group self-identify themselves with the obese group, and gradually become one of them. Others stay within that group, because there are things in their lives that they consider more important than being in 'game shape'.

There's no shame in not being able to play in the NFL. There should be a lot of shame in not being able to walk around the block, without stopping to rest. People who ride a bicycle to work are not necessarily people who cannot afford to own a car. People who do all of their traveling by car often end up buying their groceries from a sidewalk scooter.

Many in the obese group would like to be thinner, but only if they could ingest a pill that magically dissolves excess pills overnight. Since no such pill exists, they just keep eating, until someone invents that pill. They pity themselves, and blame other people, because they were born unlucky, and lacking self motivation. They have no time to exercise, but they have plenty of time to make excuses for why they have no time to exercise. They don't want to go for a walk, because they'll miss the Dr Phil Show. They blame Mr Christie for making his cookies taste so good.

I've always been heavier than I wanted to be. When we played ball hockey as a kid, I was always the last guy picked. It's not that I was the worst player available, far from it. I was the worst player from among the people invited to play. Guys worse than me never got the phone call. If enough guys better than me were available at the same time, we could have a game. If we were short a few, we'd play 3 on 3, or 4 on 4. If we didn't have that many, we didn't have a game; the guy organizing things didn't keep going down the list, until he had 10 or 12, if that meant adding a few guys who would add only numbers, and not be able to take a pass, or guard an opponent.

I could be thinner, with the proper self motivation. I bought a 'fat belt' in June. If I wore it with the cross bar through one of the existing holes, my pants would fall down, so I have had to make new holes with a nail and a screwdriver, when needed. When I lose a some weight, I periodically need to make a new hole in the belt, because my pants would be falling down again. What I don't want to see is a hole in the belt farther to the left than the one I'm currently using, even if the one to the left was made recently. I've added two holes since adding the first new hole when I bought the belt, each about an inch apart.

I successfully navigated the first week of November, when all of the Hallowe'en candy is sharply discounted in price, by buying no chocolate whatsoever. Chocolate provides many of the same brain rewards as sex/ love do. People who are not getting sex/ love often turn to chocolate as a substitute, which only makes it that much harder for them to find the real thing.

Actually, blackram your 'upper limit' is probably about 145 pounds; that's what the women who tell you they weigh 130 actually weigh. If they accurately told you that they weighed 145, your mental picture would be 160 pounds, because 160 pound women say they weigh 145, and they're larger than your preferred range. That 'I lie because I have to, because everyone else does' mentality is at the heart of the problem. Many women try to compete against a lie, and you can never win, trying to do that.
