I'm interested to hear your feedback. All I've heard is negative so far - good luck and may the Force be with you!

Been reading reviews and doesn't look good. May have to just suck it in and deal with what I have.

And a good thing I did.

Hi , take about 2- 3 weeks to get accustomed to it. Most of the time, you will use the desktop version. It is most easier to get the application you are looking for than using the old STart - Programs method, you do not need to create shortcuts for them on your desktop. Everyone in my house is using it for at least 1 yr. I have used since the preview. I like it. This is not Vista. It is quicker. You will like it. You do not need an anti virus, as it includes Defender. I have uninstalled the one provided when you buy a new laptop. You can also create a shortcut for the shutdown button on your desktop.

Then why the hell did I had to Google how to find the control panel.

I got windows 8 late last year for my home desktop but never really used it until I started working from home. It really isn't that bad and it was quite easy to get used to. There are a couple annoying quirks. I found that it was much easier to use with a touchpad rather than a mouse. It was designed for tabs and touch screens. I got a logitech something or other and it's quite nice to use. In fact, when I got my iMac and Macbook, I found myself wishing for the good ole PC on occasion!

This is a new way for looking for certain things in windows 8, so once you learn it, it is not so difficult. You will get accustomed to it. The same question you have asked, I did ask this also and other questions also and I was skeptical before trying, so I installed the preview on a virtual pc, after 1 month, I was completely confident that I installed it as my main OS. Still using, just update to 8.1. I am not saying that Windows is better but I cannot see why people are calling it failure or any other shit, when it is actually comfortable and as good as others.

Got this link from a friend and able to get the start button in minutes plus you can download anything you want without headaches.

You are welcome.

GATES SPENDS ENTIRE FIRST DAY BACK IN OFFICE TRYING TO INSTALL WINDOWS 8.1

REDMOND, WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Bill Gates’s first day at work in the newly created role of technology adviser got off to a rocky start yesterday as the Microsoft founder struggled for hours to install the Windows 8.1 upgrade.

The installation hit a snag early on, sources said, when Mr. Gates repeatedly received an error message informing him that his PC ran into a problem that it could not handle and needed to restart.

After failing to install the upgrade by lunchtime, Mr. Gates summoned the new Microsoft C.E.O. Satya Nadella, who attempted to help him with the installation, but with no success.
While the two men worked behind closed doors, one source described the situation as “tense.”

“Bill is usually a pretty calm guy, so it was weird to hear some of that language coming out of his mouth,” the source said.

A Microsoft spokesman said only that Mr. Gates’s first day in his new job had been “a learning experience” and that, for the immediate future, he would go back to running Windows 7.

Has he been secretly using Apple products while away? :rofl!:

Bill personally kicked me out of the BETA for WINDOWS when I called it a cute menu, said it was a pig and asked if will ever work.

SO happy to see he found Windows 8 as crappy as I found Windows to be.
