How many years are we realistically waiting before it becomes reality?.

It's now.

"Mr Gates said that a pilot of the Omniprocessor was due to go ahead in Senegal later this year and that he hoped to begin sending working plants to India and other countries soon after."

It's strange that we shit in the water in the first place, seems like we should be able to process it into fuel.
Putting another log on the fire would have a new meaning. :wink2:

Oh man is there ever a psychological wall to get past there before I would even attempt it. :biggrin2:
The purpose of this is to provide clean water where there is none. I don't think those benefitting from it will have the same concern. But if you think about the closed water system of the earth and the evaporation/condensation cycle, you are drinking a little bit of open sewage already.

Water is the most precious and vital (to life) resource we have. In Canada we're amongst the richer nations with this resource and take it for granted. We're incredibly lucky.

Sometimes when I take a bath, I look at all the clean water in the tub and think guiltily to myself that this amount of water could keep dozens of people alive for weeks in a country with water shortages.

:sorry2:

I have a lot of respect for wealthy businessmen like Bill Gates who invest their resources into finding solutions for global problems, instead of retreating to a private island and forgetting about the rest of the world.

Don't forget Warren Buffett.

I was thinking the same thing. You pick any one molecule of water, it could have been crapped out of the ass of dinosaurs before reached you.

The Microsoft Engine That Nailed The World Cup Is Predicting Every NFL Game

The Microsoft Engine That Nailed The World Cup Is Predicting Every NFL Game

Here Are Its Picks For The Conference Title Games

Microsoft Cortana correctly predicted three of four NFL playoff games in the Divisional Round.

It's now 6-2 picking playoff games, and 176-88 (66.6%) overall.

Cortana is a Windows phone virtual assistant that uses a Bing Predicts algorithm to predict every NFL game. At the World Cup in Brazil, Bing's algorithm correctly predicted 15 of 16 knockout stage games.

It picks games straight up, not against the point spread. Las Vegas betting favorites have won 66% of the time this season, which is right in line with Cortana. Nate Silver's ELO model has a superior ~69% winning percentage.

Cortana, Vegas, and ELO have agreed on all eight playoff games so far. The two games they got wrong were Ravens-Steelers in the Wild Card round and Broncos-Colts in the Divisional Round.

Here are Cortana's picks for the NFC and AFC championship games. We'll update them if they change (Vegas favorites in parentheses):

  • Indianapolis Colts vs. New England Patriots — Patriots win, 56.5% chance (Patriots -7)
  • Green Bay Packers vs. Seattle Seahawks — Seahawks win, 58.9% chance (Seahawks -7)
Vegas and Cortana agree on both games.

Here are Cortana's results this year:

With my luck I will follow their lead and lose 3 out of the four playoffs games.

Laws of averages is a bitch.

Still lose 31% of the time though.

you don't need a computer to figure that one.

Although I would love to see the Colts vs Green Bay.

No but it's the point spread that is a killer. Taking + 7 on the Colts scare me but I predict a 24-10 NE. + 7 on GB almost a no brainer and plan to bet heavy on it. GB will cover the 7 points.

Both look like good calls.

The only problem with running this Microsoft app is that when the phone updates, it fucks up all your picks and your contact list too. :shout:
