I suspect that being an ex-cop gives you "insider knowledge" on where to acquire all the illegal weapons you want.

I expect the criminals know that too.

Might be the gun owner who does not

These cops should get their heads examined.

TORRANCE, Calif. (KTLA) — Two women are recovering after their pickup was riddled by police gunfire in Torrance, in what investigators are calling a case of mistaken identity.

The officers who opened fire were on the lookout for fugitive Christopher Dorner. Another vehicle was also mistakenly fired upon not far away.
The first incident happened about 5:30 a.m. Thursday in the 19500 block of Redbeam Avenue.

It involved LAPD detectives from the Hollywood division, who were reportedly on a protective detail for an LAPD captain and his family named in Dorner’s manifesto.
Emma Hernandez, 71, was delivering the Los Angeles Times with her daughter, 47-year-old Margie Carranza, when officers apparently mistook their pickup for that of Dorner.
Hernandez was shot in the back, and remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Carranza suffered a wound from glass that struck her hand and received stitches.
“Tragically, we believe this is a case of mistaken identity,” Charlie Beck, chief of the Los Angeles Police Department, said on Thursday about the shooting.
Hernandez and Carranza are both expected to be okay. They have retained attorney Glen T. Jonas.

“There was no warning, there was no orders or no commands… just gunshots,” Jonas told reporters.
According to Jonas, the women’s vehicle was “the wrong color and the wrong model,” compared to Dorner’s.

He said that police “had the goal of administering street justice” and “didn’t take the time to notice that these two older, small Latina women didn’t look like a large black man.”
“We trust that the LAPD will step up and do the right thing and acknowledge that what they did was unacceptable and we’ll deal with it,” Jonas said.
The second incident, which involved Torrance police officers, happened around 5:45 a.m. at Flagler Lane and Beryl Street.

The Torrance officers had apparently heard about the nearby incident, and while en route they encountered a dark pickup that looked similar to Dorner’s.
They opened fire on the pickup. The man who was inside was not hit. So far, there has been no word of plans for a lawsuit from him.

You are however licensed to carry a department issued bun while on duty and to transport it to and from the job.

Aggressive coyote shot 'for the safety of the public': Cops

Damn couldn't they have used a tranquilizer one instead :unknw:

TORONTO - Toronto Police shot and killed an aggressive coyote in Cabbagetown on Monday night.
The dead coyote is believed to be the same one spotted by several residents near Wellesley Park on Sunday evening after coming up from the Don Valley.

That sighting prompted police to warn residents to be vigilant with their small children and pets.

The coyote ran off back into the valley after police came to the scene on Sunday, but when it returned to the park Monday and again came into close contact with area residents, it was shot and killed.

Officers tried to send the coyote back into the wild, but when that failed and it acted aggressively it was destroyed “for the safety of the public in a wooded area,” Const. Wendy Drummond said.

Toronto Police also shot and killed an aggressive coyote at Cherry Beach last year.

Locals were back walking their dogs on Tuesday at both Wellesley Park and Riverdale Park, near where the coyote was initially spotted.

Coyotes are not usually dangerous to humans, have a natural fear to us. But if they get hungry there goes your chihuahua :biggrin2:

He is currently surrounded by police officers in a cabin, but they aren't sure if he has hostages. There was a shootout and two more police officers were shot.

It's on CNN.

Dorner Shoots 2 Deputies During Gun Battle in Big Bear, One Dead

BIG BEAR, Calif. (KTLA) — One San Bernardino Sheriff’s deputy is dead and a second hospitalized after being wounded in a gun battle with a man believed to be Christopher Dorner, the former LAPD officer wanted in 3 killings/

The drama started when deputies responded to the 1200 block of Club View Dr. that a man matching Dorner’s description burglarized the home, tied up a couple and stole their vehicle.
Deputies immediately began a ground and air search for the vehicle which was located at Hwy. 38 and Glass Rd.
Dorner fled on foot into the forest and then barricaded himself inside a cabin, according to officials.

At some point, Dorner opened fire, wounding two sheriff’s deputies, a source told CNN.
Both were airlifted to Loma Linda Medical Center where one later died.
The second deputy remains in critical condition.

It is not known if Dorner was wounded.
Dorner is now reportedly barricaded inside another cabin.
All highways to Big Bear have been closed to traffic.

Four Big Bear area schools were placed on lockdown.
Dorner declared war on the LAPD, following his dismissal from the force in 2009 for allegedly making false claims about his training officer.
He is accused of killing three people, including the daughter of a retired LAPD captain and her fiance and a Riverside police officer.

Investigators are scrutinizing a conspiracy-laden manifesto published on what they believe was Dorner’s Facebook page.
It threatened “unconventional and asymmetrical warfare” against police officers and their families, saying he had no choice but to kill to reclaim his reputation.

Wolves could go through a pack of chihuahuas like guys do chicken wings on hockey night. And no one would miss the little buggers.

Wow...... So quick to judge here , does anyone here know the story from the beginning .
Or how or why his snapped .....after being accused of falsely claiming his training officer kicked a mentally ill suspect in the course of an arrest. On Friday, the LAPD announced it would reopen its investigation of Dorner’s firing and his claims.

So quick to judge , walk a day in their shoes
Don't get me wrong , not saying what he did was right

frankly I don't give a rats ass if he were bitten by a rabid vampire bat riding a mountain loin.

what he did afterwards is not right.

He chose not to be a victim and instead became a murderer.

Surveillance video showing the forceful arrest of a man suspected of robbery in Trois-Rivières, Que., has been released.
The footage, captured by a surveillance video, shows 19-year-old Alexis Vadeboncoeur lying face down in the snow, with his arms outstretched as four Trois-Rivières municipal police officers approach.
It shows him being kicked and punched by officers as he lies on the ground, surrendering.

The footage was released on Thursday in the Trois-Rivières courthouse during the suspect's bail hearing.
The incident began when at a pharmacy on Des Récollets Boulevard on Feb. 2.

They chased the suspect, who was hooded and armed, to a parking lot near the Trois-Rivières Cégep, where the surveillance footage was captured.
In the video footage, Vadeboncoeur can be seen tossing his firearm away from him as he surrenders and lies down on his stomach in the parking lot.

In their police report, officers said the teen had broken into a business. They reported they had to use force because their lives were in danger.
Quebec provincial police Sgt. Gregory Gomez del Pradosaid the force's internal affairs division is investigating.

Disturbs Trois-Rivières mayor

Trois-Rivières Mayor Yves Lévesque said Friday he was not happy with the way police proceeded with the arrest.
He said he first heard of the violent arrest through the media.

"It disturbs me as mayor," he said of the footage. "We're not happy with what we see."
Lévesque said his administration will closely follow the investigation. He said he is ready to take action based on its findings.

Vadeboncoeur's defence lawyer René Duval says he has practised law in every province in Canada and does not know of any other case where video footage shows police repeatedly hitting an individual without provocation.

The four police officers have been suspended with pay for an undetermined amount of time.

Hmmm......Mr.Robber had no problem terrorizing the individuals he robbed with a firearm, now did he?

So the constables enforced a little street justice.

Maybe just maybe Mr. Robber will think twice about his life of crime.

Agree 100%. Who knows what he would have done to those individuals in a confrontation. I know it's police brutality but the robber should not have been there in the first place. Yes old school talking but it worked then.
